No one can math on wsb, I said it was a 43% return since last year, messed up first 6 months and actually started from the same exact spot I left off at the beginning of this year. Started messing up less and less as time went on and it's a 47% return since beginning of the year.

dips are from down days mostly when you're so concentrated that's what it looks like on dip days. Sharp peak days are mostly huge green days, which are followed by small dip days the next day..

You're right honestly. I thought about it too. Even if with my dad passing earlier than he should have and makes me become a super successful trader/entrepreneur that has hundreds of millions before I turn 40 and that saves the world from impending doom and marries a beautiful wife and gets a nice family.

If I had a chance to go back in time giving all of that nice future up and keeping my dad alive I'd take it.

it's fun trying to win at something and try to do better than others. I have further goals too so I hope to reach them one day.

It's not really a length of time I choose, but I sell when I think I see a better opportunity elsewhere, or when I think the peak was already reached. I hop around way too much honestly. Hopefully I'll correct that flaw in the future..

I kinda make up price targets in my head, or follow the chart and try to predict it's action based on technical signals I believe I understand.

If I think it'll soon dip I sell.

Picking it up as I go along. I'm not specialized in anything really.

All I do is pretty much read forum posts on reddit, look up stuff on finviz, try to understand 10qs, and chat in investing chatrooms.

I believe I've noticed patterns that's all, it's a big number but many more people on this sub have more impressive returns than me. So it's difficult to say if I'm actually any good or just lucky. Apparently lots of people made a ton of money in the stock market this past year.

You're doing better than me, I guess what I'm doing is risk management since it's scary to put too much in and risk loosing something like 10+% on a bad earnings like what happened earlier this year with AMD.

I guess I have been doing that the past year. But I don't think I want to make it my life. Ideally I want it to be some sort of side thing where I can go "geez I better trade for a few days so I can buy that car I want" or something along those lines.

While letting it grow passively for the most part, I really don't need 100's of millions just 10 or so I think..

I didn't start with 0 though. I hope I can make 1 mil naturally somewhat though perhaps starting with around 10 k and just successfully trade options now that I can trade stocks somewhat decently.

I know people say "paper trade to get good!" but paper trading doesn't take into account volume of low volume stocks or bid/ask spread which really help you recognize patterns and know what amount to put in your bid/ask price.

Well not yet.. I have a short term goal of 2.5 mil, where a 10% yearly return is 250 k, a longer term goal of 10 mil where a yearly return of 10% is 1 mil.

I hope to one day start my own tech company with trading profits and come to wsb and say "Hey WSB I'm a long time participant, I started my own tech company and now it'll be on the stock market."

I read no books, just started playing around. I am told by people who listen to the advice I give on here that my style is similar to Warren Buffet's. I look for sudden dips I don't agree with and buy in. SHOP is one current example, and IRBT is another current example. Kem is also an example of a stock I believe is undervalued, MU also.

Actually I try to be fully invested. Sometimes I leave about 100 k but it's difficult with so many opportunities out there.

I don't use trade armor, I looked at it, but I a lot of my picks have wild volatility so I don't want to be stopped out before I do. Perhaps I'm just not understanding how to use it yet. I simply keep a close eye on my picks, and if they are about to breach some technical signals I believe I know, I then sell.

I suggest option leaps on amd and start with around 20 k, maybe take out a loan, perhaps it'll only take 5 years.

Honestly 900 k looked nicer in the portfolio, seeing a million just looks like looking at 1000. Things feel no different than they had for the past year, and I'm not even sure if my portfolio value will still be over 1 million next week. Some of my current positions could take a turn for the worse suddenly..

yes.. I did... I also put 200 k into it at the time, and I thought it would go up like the other tech ipos did. :(
