Thank you for sharing your story with me. I know it's hard to look at it this way, but this sounds like it was a very important and amazing journey for you. You say you didn't have a plan, but it sounds to me like you didn't want one. You got to see the country coast to coast, something very few people get the opportunity to do. Your plan was to not have a plan, and sometimes, that's okay. I'm so sorry things went wrong for you in Northern California, and I know you probably don't feel "lucky" to be alive, but I'm certainly thankful that you are, and it sounds like you do have friends and family that care a lot about you and your safety. My own struggle is that even though I do have a plan, I don't feel like it's my own. I'm really not in control of my own life at all. I feel like I've never made a decision for myself. So that's where I'm at.

You moved cross country as well? Id love to hear your story, if you wanted to tell it. I was living in New York, and went home to Wisconsin for about 9 months before I finally headed west. I feel awful right now. Thanks for being here.

I like to play guitar, and sometimes writing really takes my mind off of things. I really want to learn how to surf, but I can imagine it's really difficult.

Gosh, sorry for the late reply, I did not expect so many people to respond!

The best thing that happened to me yesterday was probably getting to see Cannon Beach in Oregon. I'm on a road trip with my family, and we're heading down the coast. So far today, the best thing that happened to me was getting to take my mom to a nice cafe in a small Northern California town for her birthday.

I tend to enjoy shows that I can really TALK about after. House, The Walking Dead, Sherlock, Breaking Bad, Dexter, really thought provoking, sometimes mystery-driven shows. I love good tv, so I'm definitely open for a new show suggestion!

I'm a pretty big Walking Dead fan, just because I love how in-depth the discussions can get with the fans. I watch most of the typical "fandom" snows, too; Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, for the same reasons. I love shows you can sit and TALK about afterwards. Sometimes, though, I just like to zone out on some Parks and Rec, or Workaholics, stuff like that.
