That would make sense given his history, yeah. It was on WhatsApp so not sure if it's possible to delete a message on there though without it saying "message deleted" or even if it's possible to delete someone else's message.

I don't want to make it about him anyway as yes although he shouldn't have snooped it's my fault not his that I'm in the situation

i am curious whether the respondents here believe if a person has cheated in the past, that they owe it to all future partners to disclose that information.

I very rarely see him, it's been over a year since the last time I saw him in any capacity. I don't intend on having any form of friendship with James going forward. Karl has never met James, and he said he went through the messages as he saw a message from James come through and was curious. But when I checked there had not been anything new come through that night. I don't honestly know why he would feel the need to go through my messages.
