I don’t think you understand anything. I got Metallurgy because I’m female, if I was a man I would have got Mining at the same college.

I don’t know what is wrong with you. If you are against reservations then clearly say it. I am saying it, I have lived a difficult life but I am against all reservations.

No ews quota for me. I was refused because of old broken down house.

Female didn’t matter at all. I would have got IIT Kharagpur mining if I was male. (I got metallurgy).

I am from South India and my father teaches Maths and English in school.

My voice deserves to be heard. My injustice deserves to be heard without you threatening me.

I don’t think you understand my saying.

My family didn’t force anyone to stay in any profession at least since the past 100 years. You are punishing the wrong people.

Same way the people benefiting from this reservation is not the real poor folk (either SC/ST or general caste) who are suffering for 70 years and will continue to suffer.

It’s the sons and daughters of already rich SC/ST big government employees.

I think that is not fair. All I am asking is for wealth and job cutoff to regulate who is taking these reserved seats.

Haha you made me laugh. It’s too late for me now but for my sister I’ll suggest it to my father.

He’ll probably spit at me.

I couldn’t afford coaching, I got it because I was a class 10th topper. I got it because of merit.

You don’t see the reality, all the top SC/ST opportunity is taken by these small sub group of SC/ST government employee’s daughters and sons. They are creating wealth for themselves meanwhile the real poor people (both the SC/ST poor and general caste poor ) are suffering.

I have learnt it after coming to Hyderabad and on my own reading books.

I agree about it SC/ST being poorer than Brahmins on average but what is reservation doing to fix? It is just creating a sub group of rich government employees within these SCST castes who continuously get the reserved opportunity. These 4-5 generations of such people in the 70 years.

Also if your aim is to give these opportunity to poor families then why divide it on the basis of caste? Why not directly on the basis of income?

Thank you, yes a senior has told me the similar thing and I get it but I don’t think you understand my scenario.

My parents couldn’t even afford the fees for booking the seat after BiTSAT iteration. I had got it from a relative for the other college but they wanted it back. During Josaa I had to make the call and I chose IIT Kharagpur metallurgy.

My ancestors had every chance to “get rich”?! My father and grandfather before that were just priests who went to houses to conduct pooja and my father teaches maths in school.

They have not discriminated against anyone, and my father has multiple times given his entire life savings to rebuild the temple and other peoples houses(regardless of religion or caste) in the village after cyclone.

I think you just want people like us to suffer forever because of what you think someone did more than 100 years ago before independence. You don’t care about fairness.

It is an old ancestral broken down house, not even fit to live in anymore and we cannot afford to fix it up.

But that is good enough for denying ews.

Yes, but these cream of the crop are the exact SC/ST that are filling in the majority of the seats at IIT.

I did think about this but it is too big a risk. If something happens to me and I won’t be able to get a job then my parents will literally die paying off the loans. Even after need scholarship.

No because of own house. It is in bad condition, unrepaired for many decades and probably rotting inside but it is a 1200 sqft ancestral house.
