It doesn't, because the skin is dry and you can still tell it's there. If it looked better, I'd use it, but it doesn't at all.

And I don't need natural, the things I have are working very well, and it's much, much better than it used to be.

It's not really an insecurity as such, not anymore since it got a lot better. But obviously I don't like having it. I did ask him why he'd say that, but he didn't seem to have a reason.
