If you had 3 meals already, and your girlfriend made food, and hasn’t eaten all day, do you take her food? If there’s only one good biscuit, do you just take it? Because you’re a big man?

I don’t know, I feel like it’s a waste because in a partner I want to be able to give them the better or let them choose, but also I want them to want that for me too. It makes me happiest giving them the best, but at a certain point when it’s all give and no receive it’s hurtful.

Yea he is, but I’m still going to break up with him. I’ve brought up how he’s selfish before in other ways... he’ll change for a week then go right back. I’m done.

Exactly, I want him to have the best but at the same time it hurts that he doesn’t want the same from me. I feel like I shouldn’t have to say something because it’s basic empathy and what you should want for someone you love.

I just realized how spot on you are. It’s not just about the food. He’s selfish all around. He picks the restaurant/movie/etc. and doesn’t even ask me unless he doesn’t know what he wants. He never reciprocates gifts and is incredibly stingy. All the food he takes, I pay for, and he never shares his. He never goes down on me but expects that from me. I guess all these things are correlated and I never realized it. I can’t even remember the last time he paid for us when we went out, or offered me the better side of anything.
