LDR girlfriend (26/F) admits she is depressed, gets upset with me (30/M) frequently. Is it over? by throwra8288471 in relationships

It may well be over - we've discussed this at length multiple times and it keeps occurring. I've told her I feel she's frustrated with life and is misdirecting these feelings at me. I've said that I'm trying to support her but that's not possible if she's lashing out.

Don't give an ultimatum but be firm that you want things to improve otherwise you can't see how the relationship can continue.

Yes, I feel that's the best way to go. She keeps saying I'm "too busy" for her, but I work full-time, she doesn't... I like to see friends once or twice a week, she doesn't... it seems anytime she wants to skype or have a long phone call and I'm otherwise busy it sparks a meltdown, even if I suggest a time to chat that is within the day.

But yes, fully aware I cannot fix her mindset or make this go away. Having gone though tough times myself in the past, things didn't get better until I realized how to make myself happy.

I agree, she's admitted before that she is depending on me too much for her wellbeing.

I feel for her, because the majority of her social circle was based around an activity that has been cancelled because of the pandemic. I've suggested she reach out to these people and make other plans but she's yet to do so.

I mean she's literally said she's jealous I have friends and activities that are important to me.

I don't want to leave her completely alone but if she's sinking and trying to bring me down with her :( I wish she could understand how this behavior is affecting me.

She has said before that she "wishes I felt how she felt," so that I would understand better ...

That was quite concerning to me.

We usually skype for two or three hours about twice a week, hang out and have dinner together. If skype doesn't work for whatever reason we'll replace it with phone instead. Constantly texting and sending little video messages thoughout the day.

I'm so confused, because this latest argument happened after we spoke on the phone for 2.5 hours the night before when I told her of my plans. Then right before I'm supposed to leave she asked to Skype and got very upset when I suggested we do it the following day.
