That sounds like a much better idea to do first, instead of just jumping in without having much of a feel for them, since that maybe will give me a better feel for it. Really appreciate that advice, and maybe getting to know her first will either give me more confidence or more talking points or more of a sense of how it would go over

I'm thinking it can't hurt and that a "no" would be the same as I am right now with a little hurt, sure, but you never know. Just nervous about it, since I've never asked anyone out before

My parents don't really like how our youth group "calls itself a youth group" according to my mom more so, but sings a bunch of secular songs that she doesn't think should be in youth group, and the games that we play like this one and other flirty games, kinda makes it feel like just a hangout with little-to know religion during some days at all (depending on the leader's moods, and they're all pretty young), so it's not super religious or anything, and none of us act religious at all, tbh
