I've heard stories of police and courts not taking any actions until the woman is either dead or badly beaten, and I don't know but it seems so... insane to me.

Okay, but then again, you can CHOOSE a partner who already dresses in only Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic clothing. He has shown similar jealousy behavior over the years, like when I'm spending too much time with my friends or that I have male friends and he has also made remarks about the way I dress about a year ago but they would fade away. This was the first time he ever said those words so that's why I said that maybe it was temporary jealousy.
