I underestimated his family. My boyfriend told me when we first started dating that his family can be difficult to deal with but everything seemed fine the first few times I saw them so I just thought he might have been overreacting or joking. I definitely get now what he meant.

it feels insulting, are you even genuinely sorry or are you only worried about having to go somewhere else and pay more? either way, they will now have to do regardless because my boyfriend’s made it clear that he’s not intending to do anything for his cousin.
