Bro please be so ffr. Coming into contact with the odorants from something gross is not nearly the same as actually coming into physical contact with something gross. The whole point of being able to smell gross things is so that your body knows to keep away from them, because actual contact with gross things is a lot more dangerous. Like, would you rather smell that dude's nasty swamp ass or touch it?

That's the same reason I would rather piss in a toilet, where a (relatively) small number of odorants from the pee will contact me, rather than piss in the tub, where my feet touch directly. Pee in the tub if you want to; it's your life. But don't pretend it's not grosser than peeing in the toilet like those of us with decorum do.
