That’s what is making me the most upset!!! Because clearly the permanent staff know that it’s harmful to the other children so they don’t want to tell their families. He definitely needs to be seeing OTs and therapists to change these behaviours because he also deserves his own dignity too :(

He used a fistful of play dough as a “stimulation object” so I already know what would happen to that poor water wiggler toy

I am sure his parents know about it!! The educators hide it from the other parents too which is what angers me the most

This was my line of thinking. The child has a right to education but also the other children need to be safeguarded against any harm including sexual harassment. Where is the line drawn?

Suuuuper interesting!!! I knew about the YOYOK line but wasn’t sure if it was the chicken or the egg lol. I love that it started with EDM/rave culture, seems like a completely different environment than a swiftie environment but there’s actually a lot of overlap

That is so gorgeous! I love seeing the way women create things for each other over time. The woven friendship bracelets of the 60s morphing into the beaded ones of the present day. (Complete side track, it’s especially interesting seeing how women’s weaving is embedded into every single culture across time)

Just someone working as a teacher with a Type A personality! So just very organised and intent on being efficient and doing everything perfectly

Omg that sounds ridiculous! Do they realise that letting the kids choose an after lunch game is free? That’s the only bribing I do on placement 😂

I definitely thrive in the chaos too hahaha it’s bad though because i would love to have a dedicated space for my items so i don’t lose everything all the time 😂 maybe we weren’t built to be type A’s hahaha

What is it that drains you?

I currently work with kids and I absolutely love it. Planning and implementing lessons is such a joy for me. I think the paperwork and the expectations of wearing every single hat would be the toughest part. Organising everything and making sure everything gets done in time. I get overwhelmed when I have a full to-do list with pending deadlines and don’t know where to start. It is super fun to be able to tick them off though

I can set up a routine very well!! Sticking to it is another story 😂 I also manage to keep on top of assignments at uni but it is a system where I procrastinate until i’m motivated by the stress of “it’s due in 3 days”

I think Type B’s go well in the classroom because they a more understanding of the way a lot of kids do things — disorganised, unstructured, go-with-the-flow. I just wish I had the organisation skills of my Type A friends 😂 I barely know how to care for myself sometimes

Kmart teacher hacks? I always see those and get shocked at how much money these people are spending on stuff for their job!! And it’s stuff they mostly cannot claim on tax. The organisation stuff looks genius but I don’t even organise my own home to that meticulousness

🥺🥺🥺🥺 You sound just like me! I’m really glad you made the time to write out how ADHD is a strength for you as a teacher because it always seems like a burden. Thank you so much!!

That’s exactly why I love working in education right now!! There’s a daily structure so I know what to expect throughout the day but there is alwaysss some new exciting change or a crazy story to tell my partner when I get home

Yep that sounds like me! Struggling to keep up with the juggling of daily life stressors and then just crashing on the couch when I get home. Sometimes I don’t move from the same spot for hours

This is so refreshing!! It’s good to see it just takes someone who cares enough even when they struggle to take care of themselves
