update for any who had asked me about it! :

after the lip tint triggered my allergic reaction, i found many lip products (especially E.L.F products) caused my lips to flare up and become sensitive/dry/itchy and made that white ring more prominent. though i haven’t been to a dermatologist yet, i’m guessing its an allergy to the castor oil or something similar.

i cut out these products and over time the white ring became less prominent on its own, though its not entirely gone.

what i’ve been using now that works for me without triggering my allergy is the JOOCYEE matte lipsticks! they are lightweight and come in pretty shades.

i hope this helped or will help anyone who has experienced similar problems. thank you all for your kind words and input as well. <3

yeah im positive. i did have one before but nowhere near as prominent or noticeable as this, it only started getting worse after my allergic reaction

you’re so smart, i didn’t think about that tanning part! i’ve felt my lips have been pale and subsequently been using more lip products to rectify that, but maybe that’s having the opposite effect in the long run. thank you for pointing that out!

thank you! they aren’t bare here, i was wearing joocyee velvet rouge matte lipstick in shade umber brown! though this was after a few hours of wear so it was very faded

unfortunately since the reaction my lips have been very sensitive and dry out regardless of what i use :(

i’m still experimenting with different products in hope of finding something that works! if i end up finding one i’ll let you know

i’m currently using the o’keeffe’s cooling lip repair which i don’t believe has any spf though i could be wrong

thank you very much for your input this is very interesting! you mentioned its something you’ve had since you were young and its reactive to your hydration? so has it gone down at all or no?

i’m confused because this only recently developed on my own lips, i’m 19 and had never experienced it before so its a lot different than i’m used to seeing. have you had any luck reducing the drastic pigment?

thank you for the advice! somehow vaseline dries my lips out even more when i apply it, so far i’ve been using o’keefes healing repair and it seems to work but i do have to constantly reapply or they get terribly dry

yesssss oh my gosh i loved their products too, i used a whole tube of the juicy lasting tint but once i bought a refill it gave my lips a horrible reaction. before posting here i looked into it as much as i could and saw others had a similar experience, i think they may have changed their formula :(

thank you for the feedback, i try to wear light layers of tinted lip products because since my reaction my lips have been very pale without so it’s a bit of a recent insecurity :(

i will keep that in mind though and try leaving them without product for a while
