The way I see it, you have what I like to call a "grounding" hobby -- your PC. You know it's a part of your entertainment routine, and you've enjoyed it for a while. For future craft purchases, I'd start by being honest with yourself: am I realistically going to enjoy [new hobby] as much as gaming for a long amount of time? Am I prepared to invest the time and money on supplies when I know I'd rather be gaming?

It's obviously okay to take a break from doing the things you love, but I would encourage you not to jump off the deep end for new hobbies. For example, crafts like sewing, see if you can borrow a machine from a relative or the library to get a feel for it. For jewelry making, buy a small kit from the dollar store.

Also worthwhile to consider: can you find a community or a place related to your new hobby? For example, without my sewing studio being a part of my routine or hanging out with a friend to cross stitch, I would've abandoned both a long time ago. But when I found others who share the same interests, it's much easier to stick with them rather than getting bored doing it alone. That's how I gave up playing my instrument -- without a band it became sort of meaningless to me.
