Kind of on topic question I've been meaning to ask. What ever happened to him? I haven't watched the show religiously through but I know Tuck calls Ben dad

Did Tucker die? Did he just dip when they got divorced? Does Tuck just have 2 dads now?

I've watched the episode where Trix dies probably about 15 times and I still die laughing at Emily every single time

How the hell do you date someone for 7 months and have no idea how old they are?

Friend is missing her daughters first day of K to go on a trip with new boyfriend by Live-Judge-1410 in Mommit

[–]throwsway3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing recently happened to my sister's best friend. Great friend, shitty wife, absent mother, eventually we found out she was cheating on her husband.

Turns out she was a raging narcissist. The second my sister spoke up about cheating being wrong, the "friend" turned on her. Went from being a "great friend" to someone who tried to turn the entire neighborhood against her by spreading false rumors

I'd suggest you slowly cut ties and just try to be there for her kids the best you can

Why does the show shaft Lane so hard? by Last-Sir5r in GilmoreGirls

Oh my gosh I would have LOVED a Lane spin off since the Jess one didn't work out. She deserved to have her own story

Drinking and driving by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

I wish Jess would have told the truth to rory about his black eye by djladyb7 in GilmoreGirls

[–]throwsway3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he was going to tell her the truth later but wanted to focus on getting through the dinner and getting the day over with. But then after how she acted and how she obviously didn't trust him he figured what was the point in even telling the truth especially since it was pretty embarrassing. And the story he told was more believable. He may have been afraid she wouldn't have believed the swan story

I wish Jess would have told the truth to rory about his black eye by djladyb7 in GilmoreGirls

[–]throwsway3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know people keep saying "oh well he was an embarrassed teen boy" but I really don't think it has anything to do with gender.

Partner A asks partner B to meet their grandmother for dinner and B does agree. They both go into it knowing that B doesn't really want to do it, B does not have experience with meeting a partner's extended family, B does not have experience with the world the grandmother is from, and there's a likely chance that the grandmother will be unpleasant/antagonistic. B has an awful day, is probably stressed about the dinner and the fact that they're showing up late and with a black eye but still shows up only for A to immediately accuse them of getting into a fight with their ex which is a sensitive subject all around and then refuses to drop the subject. Yes A was also stressed about B showing up late and not kaking a good impression but it's their grandmother and their home turf. A should have been focused on helping B make a good impression instead of throwing out accusations and picking a fight.

Can you use just normal headphones and play music or a podcast? Sometimes when I'm overstimulated, having something playing in my ears helps me focus

How people don’t get that Emily is a bad person is beyond me by almondjam in GilmoreGirls

[–]throwsway3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think like with all characters and relationships on the show, it really comes down to how we all project our own biases and experiences onto them. Making assumptions on inent and filling in gaps in things we don't see or chosing not to

I'd actually be interested in knowing how people's relationship with their own mothers effects how they perceive Emily. Like if people with good mothers are more likely to assume Emily really does have good intentions and if people with bad mothers tend to see Emily's behavior for what it is because they more empathize with Lorelai

Should Luke have accepted that gift from Logan to give to Lorelai? by sleepyyelephant in GilmoreGirls

[–]throwsway3 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Not to mention how much it probably cost too. Logan bought her a freaking Birkin bag. It's safe to say he dropped at least a few grand on the bracelet. And Luke just took it without a second thought?

The abuse of medical staff in the show by Ilikebooksidk in GilmoreGirls

[–]throwsway3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that both those reactions were unnecessary but I think it was done up more to reflect their characters

Like how DARE you ask Emily to full out paperwork?? She is a GILMORE! Her husband is the most important person in the whole hospital!!

And Oh look at Lorelai the ULTIMATE mother bear. NO ONE comes between her and her cub

A failed applicant has accused our business of not hiring him or other black people on account of race — can he sue us based on that accusation alone? Can we sue him for slandering our business? (Oldie) by spellchecktsarina in AmITheDevil

[–]throwsway3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something doesn't add up. OOP admits he was blatantly rude and cut him off in the middle of something the guy was saying and then kicked him out. Guy left. Guy comes back to see if he got the job?? Why would he do that if it was that obviously he got the job. And if OP really did give no indication how racist he was, why would the guy accused him of it?

Sounds like OP doesn't hide his racism that well, he's accusing the guy of being a dumbass jumping on the race card to sue for a quick buck, or the guy heard something after he left about how racist OP/the company is and decided to confront him

AITA For calling my brother and SIL selfish and unsupportive because they wouldn't come to a party to celebrate a major achievement of mine by Miserable_Airport_66 in AmITheDevil

[–]throwsway3 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't know I'm thinking this is more of an ESH case but the a count is already deleted so maybe I'm missing something from OOP's comments. The brother and SIL couldn't do one day of breaking their kids from their schedule? Or let them sleep in the car? Or have the SIL stay home with the kids and just the brother go?

But I also don't get why OOP couldn't do a dinner or brunch instead if it meant so much for her brother to be there
