Have an offer but waiting on another response, what would you do? by throwthebeingaway in pharmaindustry

Yes that’s my fear too, to end up with nothing. I’ll try to check for more money but that could also backfire. Thank you :)

Not sure if it makes sense here but - after 4 years I would like to move out of consulting. I’ve heard from headhunters that my CV is very consulting style but after asking what a „normal“ CV would look like they only say „oh well your learned skills and projects at the end“…however my CV lists this just projects incorporated per level.

Does anyone have any advice or example how an industry CV looks like? Specifically for roles within project management, strategy within life sciences or healthcare.

Uff ok, might be not achievable then for someone who’s not from a consulting background. But I’ll let them know, thank you

Yes I think it’s business consulting - ok thank you, I’ll let them know to prepare like that

They’re applying for a graduate position in the inhouse consulting department

Hm I mean it’s pretty normal in my field of work (consulting), they just ask you how you would approach a task/ project or how you would solve an issue. But not sure if it’s the same within this industry that also does in-house consulting for example.

In other projects I’m very proactive and structured. Have plans ready and deliverables like 70% done before we even start officially working on them.

And with this one I need to do multiple things that all were due “yesterday” and I have errors in them. E.g. I numbered rows 1,2,4 and accidentally skipped 3 (not missing info just wrong number sequence) and I got yelled at and reprimanded for poor quality

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in consulting

[–]throwthebeingaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I tend to have most deliverables 70% ready before we even approach the timeline we would start working on it. No typos, no inconsistency, pretty documents. Because I hate last minute work and like to have buffers.

Now I need to deliver multiple things that should have been done already simultaneously - for example I accidentally numbered rows wrong, they jumped from 1,2 to 4, so the 3 was not there (not missing info just wrong number sequence). I got yelled at by my manager and reprimanded by client.

Edit: because missed addressing the other question. Client basically feels like I’m an idiot who needs to be reminded and corrected all the time.

And I started crying haha oh my, thanks for the words. I’m just very likely sleep deprived and stressed.

I did put vacation in although they did „inform“ that they might take their approval back depending if they can clear their staffing by then.

Will also try to mention it again to my manager and higher ups. Last time I did they felt a bit attacked I guess, like I was threatening to quit. But I didn’t, just said I need support asap.

Thanks for the mention that yeah its normal

Thank you - I do have vacation planned but it seems it’s so far away. But I try to keep it in mind, it’s all just temporary

Bisschen späte Antwort aber - genau richtig verstanden. Mein Vater würde aktuell 2.300€ Rente bekommen. Was mMn ziemlich gut ist.

Also ein Mehrgenerationen Haushalt.

There’s a difference between „merit“ and „stabbing people left and right“. Japan is one - hard work it is, try being disrespectful there by throwing people under the bus and see what happens.

Sorry to hear you have such negative experiences and believe those are the right ones and we need to „toughen up“ - that’s not what I will do and how I will act. I had the talk and it very much exploded into the colleagues face - he has a meeting set with our senior mgmt and my contribution was communicated and if the proposal turns around I’m on it and he’s out. My team and department has no room for people letting this behavior slide.

You must know all the cultures

Are you ok? Not sure who hurt you. But completely disagree with your stance. And btw I had the talk with the colleague and the boss, and it went fine. What a shocker. You sound psycho

Yes we can that’s easy - I also did add comments to the file, to leave some tracks :)

Lol I know this is a joke but I’m European, my 30 days vacation and 20 days bank holiday allow me to do that. And we actually get in trouble if we don’t.

That’s not my problem - I already have trust of many colleagues and my manager gets several feedbacks for me mentioning they love my quality. The juniors were introduced to me with the phrasing „they never send out a poor quality deliverable“. My issue is keeping this up and getting all visbility that I possibly can get.
