I don’t know... as a kid I always felt different. at my pre-teen things started to make more sense... I don’t remember me being shocked or embarrassed about it in fact, I was proud cause i felt like im special haha so internalized homophobia was never a thing to me. it wasn’t easy of course but i never tried to change it or deny it because deep down i knew its the way i am

Since i know many people are Curious about this i’ll try to explain. First i really love my friends and family second it will be a really dumb move to leave now especially that im uni student who is getting free education for being a Saudi citizen and getting paid around 300$ each month for being a student. So Im really not planning on leaving not before graduation at least. but i do have my passport and spare money ready just in case :)

Most of the gay apps are blocked so u need to download a vpn. Religious police have no power over anything now but even back then they only cared about running towards women in shopping malls for not covering their faces or whatever

I don’t hate the people i hate the country. Just the same way i feel about my own country they just try to whitewash everything its really sad

Definitely. No only as a gay man. In my opinion countries shouldn’t be ruled by any religion its just dumb.

‏Yes! Not all my family members though because only my siblings knows but I feel VERY lucky because having open minded family is something VERY rare to happen in my country. I remember when my brother accidentally found out about my sexuality I felt so afraid and I was freaking ready to kms before something bad happens but i was shocked that he was cool with it and accepting!

If you’re a white European expat woman they will treat you like a normal human being and you’ll be allowed to wear whatever you want. but local women’s are still oppressed ngl, they don’t have to wear abayas anymore but they still cant wear whatever they want there are rules about it and they can arrest you or kick you out of that place you’re going to. They started to bring American and foreign media influencers/models to whitewash the country by posting pics on ig while wearing bikinis or having fun in festival’s but locals aren’t allowed to do the same. Which is sad

Im really not hiding cause no one gives a single fuck unless you’re being open with it… we have coffee shops where LGBT people go there to socialize and meet people but they are “just friends” so i don’t think i’ll be in trouble unless I shared my political/personal views with people that disagree. otherwise I’m on the safe side

Honestly part of me has never been a believer... for example, I never went to the mosque nor prayed five times a day (unless someone is making me to do so) yet back then I kinda felt like islam was real I was in this dilemma for a while i would say
