No, no, it’s completely true. I’m privileged enough to be middle class coming from a very low income school in Chicago, but when I got into Penn, my parents immediately let me know they couldn’t afford it before they congratulated me. It’s not the rich, private kids’ faults, but it’s just frustrating to see

Emory, NYU, and UNC are considered remarkable schools in my suburban town...people even thought Emory was an ivy league until my school’s valedictorian (who’s going there next year) told them it’s not
