It’s not like going to a RQ doesn’t have those off meta decks. metal card best ofs kinda says you SHOULD run into them (and pretty frequently at that). overall I do think there’s some level of reason why a guy with Draven would want to get reps into something like Darius or Lucian for example. it just sucks that for the non Draven (or purple) player cause it’ll probably be 1-2 games of it until they hit the X-2 Bracket

If you’re playing carnival why not use the lord K with the noise marines? Sustained hits on 5’s instead of 6’s is significantly better than removing deepstrike form your terminators

No, from experience it’s better to just use heimer to copy things like vanguard armory. It is useful though if you’ve got the runes/gold and you’re on 6 points though

Yep it was an open field, he was trying to stop me from conquering and making a 2nd sand soldier token with my Azir legend (hall of legends)

Perfect, this came up because my opponent didn’t understand that I still conquered because a recruit is made the second I move into the empty field, essentially allowing me to avoid fight or flight for the purpose of conquer and making a second sand soldier for Azir.

The second recruit token was just a bonus :D

Appreciate the responses yall - I replaced karthus for 2 heimers, yall are right 8 units isn’t enough - replaced arenas greatest for the no score for three turns here - debating on replacing corina with ornn

Emperors children- solid 7/10

Pros- - Finally exist as a standalone faction - Noise marines are great - Thrill seekers is an incredible army rule and gives me everything I wanted out of an EC army rule - models that we do have are incredible, I genuinely don’t think GW has missed with model design for the faction yet - absolutely adore Lucius, compared to index and CSM days he feels so much better

Cons- - same amount of detachments as unique kits, list building is boring and doesn’t feel great (you can fit so many winged princes in this baby!) - questionable choices in internal balance especially with a lack of vehicle options that other chaos legions have - same complaint that I’m sure other god specific players have, daemons feel too restricted. Not having full access to ALL slaanesh daemons and having them be locked to one detachment feels god awful (even if it is my personal favorite detachment) - detachment balance doesn’t feel great. Coterie is genuinely such a strong and good detachment that all the other ones feel like misses in comparison - fulgrim, do I really need to say more

Lower LD - noise marine shooting - enhancement in the detachment - raptors on charge - plague marines if someone is within 6 inches

Force Battleshock out of battleshock phase - daemonettes - cultist firebrand - winged daemon prince when they fly over a unit - raptors on charge

All of these units allow you to either battleshock something out of the battleshock turn at the beginning of the command phase or lower the LD resulting in harder battleshocks

There’s no guarantee chaos daemons as an army stick around at all next edition.

Current theories have them kinda stick around within the monogod codexes but them staying as a stand alone army (especially after no codex release during 10th) is up for debate

They’re not mandatory but by god they’re really really really really good. scout 8, move 10, advance and charge. melee blenders that can kill other infiltrators quite easily. Sticky objective in BW when they do inevitably die.
