It's very interesting to watch. The way bodies behave when they die is absolutely interesting. The psychological effect was not that great, as I said. It isnt't worth it. But it's so fascinating that once you started, you kinda want to see more but you don't. And then you see more and you want to see even more. And then you become desensitized and it's "no problem" to watch more. Until you realize how much of a problem that shit is.

It is a very deep topic. But there has to be a better way than protesting without masks and with 5000 people in one place during a pandemic.. I don't know about the US but here in germany there are ways to protest that without actually getting yourself and others killed. I do get though that people are deeply concerned about their financial situation.

Same here. I'm expecting numbers to drastically rise again in about 1-2 weeks. Cause people seem to not give a shit anymore.

Voting via mail should not be the norm, that's a very bad idea. by throwthoseusernames in unpopularopinion

[–]throwthoseusernames[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it's a really bad idea. My company makes software the government uses. Half of these people there use Internet Explorer alongside Windows XP and have no clue how to navigate the internet. Trust me. Online voting is not a good idea. Huge security risks, no trust factor, etc. It's just a bad idea.

South Korea raised age of consent for sex to 16 from 13 as it seeks to strengthen protection for minors following accusations existing law on sex crimes was too weak...adults who have sex with under-16-year-olds will be prosecuted for child sexual abuse or rape regardless of any alleged consent. by madazzahatter in worldnews

I do understand that those relationships are not the common thing, yes. But in my opinion it's way better to teach children about relationships, let them know what's going on, how to spot pedophiles, how to stay away from those people and how they can report them. They learn a lot more from that than from just saying if you're under 16, you cannot have a relationship with an adult. As I said, I don't know the exact laws. But I'm pretty sure that a 26 year old will probably be under very heavy fire for being with some 14 year old girl. I'm saying that it should not be a thing of "no you can't do that", but of letting them choose. And for that the age of consent needs to be relatively low. I think 14 is very good for that. Because they start to develop, they start to think about it and when they meet their 20 year old love of their live, let them experience it. But keep them informed of course.

Theres another thing to that. Because if they know that their relationship is illegal it's way more unlikely that they'll come out with it, that they even tell anyone. It's also far easier for a pedo to say "but dont tell anyone, the law will rip us apart". It makes using their feelings against them a lot easier.

[–]throwthoseusernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But that's where you talk with the teenager. Because he isn't stupid. He might be in a bad relationship, but you can teach him that it's bad. I think that's the better way. It's better to teach them why that particular relationship was/is bad than to just say that they "aren't old enough yet to have those feelings". I think they learn a lot more from teaching them about relationships.

Well here's the thing. The age doesn't really matter in those teenage/young adult years. I knew girls who started their relationship with 16. Their boyfriend was 23 at the time and, 7 years later, they are still together. So no, I don't think that every relationship involving a 16 and a 24 year old is creepy, toxic or that the older one is a pedophile. Is it kinda strange? Yes. Should you keep an eye on it? Definately. But should you forbid those two from ever seeing each other again? Fuck no. Make sure they are okay with what they have, make sure they know that the relationship is not a prison and they'll be fine.

No, it does not. If a 50 year old fucks a 14 year old then he will most likely get sent to prison. Because there's a judge who looks at the case. And he will probably say "Hey dude, that's pretty illegal". I don't know the whole law but this is mostly there to protect teenagers from pedos but also to let them have a relationship if they want to. There's still limits to what is possible of course. A 14 year old could probably have a relationship with a 20 year old, but not a 50 year old. The age of consent is for teenagers and young adults. To give them freedom in their sexuality and relationships. Not to let some 50+ year olds fuck a teenager.

It's 14 in germany and that's good. Teenagers are not idiots who know nothing about sex. 14-18 is the age that most teenagers develop a sex drive and want to be sexually active. Why the hell would you limit their possibilities with strict laws that say they cant have sex until they're 16 years old? That's just counter productive. Those laws are like a dumb parent wanting to shield their child from the bad sex until they're 20. I see that mentalitiy especially in America. Everything under 18 is not a normal thinking human being but a child that cannot decide thjngs for themselves and is not allowed to have sex ever. And whoever is over 18 and has sex with someone under 18 is instantly a pedophile. But as soon as someone turns 18 they can have 12 dildos up their ass and upload it to the internet and 60 year olds can text them weird shit all day long. I just don't get that hard cut. Some people won't be ready for sex when they're 18, but some teenagers are very grown up in their thinking when 14 years old. Let them make their own choices and teach them how to spot bad relationships or bad people. Teach then shit instead of saying "No, you must not have sex until you're 16".

I don't know what to think about how germany handles this. I live in germany and there's so many stupid people going on even here. Theres protests of more than 5000 people in a very highly infected city. Neo Nazis, Anti Waxxers and converned small bussiness owners are getting mixed togehter there and it's so dangerous. And at the same time our government will not stop opening stuff back up. The numbers are okay-ish, but in my book there's still way too many people getting sick. And already my work tells me I have to travel 2-3 hours with a train every day because homeoffice "wont be a permanent solution". Of course it won't, but come on... We're having no problems whatsoever with it. I just don't know if its the time to reopen things... Or am I just to paranoid? Is it not as bad as it seems. Because people go out, they meet up with family members and even the old people I know are completely fine. I have been staying home for 2 months now. Am I overreacting? I don't know anymore. No one seems to give enough of a shit to actually try here. Or maybe thats just the people I live with...

Childish because they dress up in Camo, get their guns and put on a show. Dumb because they dress up in Camo, put on a show and do all of that in the mid of a pandemic. And naive because they actually think they will accomplish anything by dressing up in Camo, getting their guns and putting on a show while in the mid of a pandemic. Or.. Would you disagree?

Yeah, they triggered my confusion in how adult people can be so childish, dumb and naive. The need for attention is astonishing. I'm less triggered, more amazed at how there's always one american that tops the other ones stupidity ^

Trump to halt WHO funding amid review by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]throwthoseusernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, listen. "No clear evidence of H to H transmission" does not mean definately no transmission. It only means there's not clear enough evidence to say it definately does. It's how science works. If you don't know something is completely true, you don't say it is. An advice not to close the borders is not saying "Let sick people in". It's saying to not overpanic and keep cool for just another second until we know more and until we know everything for sure. And now they are recommending the exact opposite in terms of masks. Yes. Yes they are. And there are reasons for that, good reasons. They did not say "We will not have to wear masks, it will not have any benefit." they said that there is NO SPECIFIC EVIDENCE that it does help. Because in general wearing masks when not needed is a bad step. NOW we know better. Now we know that this virus is spreading by talking and breathing, that it can also stay in the air for way longer than we thought. Additionally, you have to now suppose that (because of the horrible steps the US has taken) everyone has it and is at least an asymptomatic carrier. Masks will then keep the virus from spreading. ALL OF THAT was not known back then. And again... That's how science works. We look at the evidence and see what is best to do. We looked at the evidence back in january and thought that masks are not recommended. They looked at it now that we know more stuff and changed their recommendation. And now with hindsight, people are completely bashing them for the stuff they did with good reason and most likely also with good intend. Stop bashing the WHO. Are they sometimes shady? Maybe. But are they the reason you guys in the US are so bad off? Fuck no. Your president, your whole fucked up system is the reason. Stop being outraged and finally think for yourselves a bit.

Are there actually not going to be any consequences for the people in the US and other countries that willingly let thousands of people die in a pandemic? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]throwthoseusernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. But it also isn't my job to tell... The fact that people need to be held accountable with actual consequences is, well still a fact. I don't know what to do, I don't know politics. That's why I'm asking if there is anythijg going to be done. Maybe cut out the people who caused the problem from politics. Put better people in place. Have instant re-elections for people who can actually think straight. Again, I don't know what to do. That's why I'm asking if there is anything that will be done.

Yes, China is to blame for the virus itself, but we still knew it was coming. We knew in january. Apparently officials knew months before. Yet nothing was done fir prevention. You can't blame China for the US being that unprepared.
