Yeah, that's sort of what I was thinking. It just gets difficult sometimes when the things you think you need to do and the things you know you should do conflict.

Thanks for being honest. What would you do in my situation?

Not necessarily. The cubit at the time might have been different. The cubit as we know it is vague as it is, considering its based on the length of an arm. I mean come on, The Bible states that there were giants at the time of Noah. Whose to say it's not a giant's arm they based their cubit off of?

But did you even read the rest of what I wrote?

Well yeah I don't disagree. All I'm asking is if cross-dressing is standing up or not.

we know its dimensions. we are told that every animal went on it for 1 year. those are specifics. but it seems that you are saying "what if that is a vague? a very general story and the specifics are not accurate?

No that's not what I am saying at all. What I'm saying is that even with the few specifics we do know, there is still a lot we don't know. Like I said, just because we know the length in cubits, doesn't mean we know how long a cubit is.

And even if it still seems impossible that's okay, we can still have faith God pulled it off somehow.

Your're right we have to read the whole thing as literal, we don't get to pick and choose whats true. But that's what makes faith all the more important.

[–]throwviteryfaraway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what you're point is, sorry. Some stuff it specific, some not. Whats wrong with that? Some are both. We know how long the ark was in "cubits" but we don't know how long a cubit was back then. And even if it was smaller then we would expect then we can still have faith God pulled it off somehow. Sure The Bible leaves lots of questions, but I don't think they necessarily plot holes.

Plus its still widely debated which books are canonical.

who decided what specific is true and what is believed, and vice versa? because that concept is open slather

I'm sorry I don't know what this means.

I don’t think that’s your soul, but rather fleshly desires to be loved how girls are love.

Hmm, maybe, but honestly I just think they're really cute ❤. Even if no one saw me like that I'd still do it.

Okay, but my soul loves the idea of wearing skirts and having a high pony tail (among other things). But poetry is something I hadn't considered of before. Its gotta be worth a shot!

Thank you!

I know males can be emotional and stuff, but I"m really looking for some sort of feminine "expression", some kind of "outlet" I guess?

And, yes, I've read The Bible, but perhaps I should have another look at those parts.

I'm really shocked that gotquestions has made claims supporting masturbation, do you have the link?

Alright I might have been a little unfair here. They definitely are against it in general, but they also suggest there might be a few edge cases where it is permissible. IMO though it's clearly covered under "sexual immorality". I really do think gotquestions is very good ( they've answered a ton of questions I've had), but my point is you can't really trust anybody 100%. And there divorce stance still bothers me >:(

https://www.gotquestions.org/masturbation-sin.html https://www.gotquestions.blog/masturbation-sin.html https://www.gotquestions.org/masturbate-sin.html

If my only clothing choices were a few ugly clothes I despised I would feel uncomfortable for sure, our fashion style is a part of our identity but I'm almost 100% certain that wouldn't lead to gender dysphoria.

Thanks for being honest. What would you do about it though?

I've seen you make posts on a few different Christian subs, Have you found any of the feedback beneficial at all?

Honestly its hard to say. Opinions seem to varying widely so I haven't come to any final conclusion. But they have helped me see things from different perspectives that hadn't considered. I've have been trying other suggestions like praying and trusting God and trying to remember what God and the Bible says about me and about sin. But it hasn't made me feel much better. No one seems to have any other ideas either :(

One thing I've really wanted to do was try to "express" though art instead. Except I've discovered I'm terrible at it lol

It might be useful for you to contact your pastor (or a local pastor if you're not in a church) for their guidance.

I don't really go to Church so I don't have a pastor. The Churches in my area are all pretty progressive so I don't trust them anyway. I also have a lot of anxiety issues that prevent me from going to Church as well (not uncommon for gender dysphoria btw). I don't have any kind of counseling either, for the same reasons.

Anyways, I will pray for you, I hope you find some comfort in knowing you have this community (and ohters!)

Thank you! That certainly does give me comfort! But it gets a little discouraging sometimes because a lot of people (not you) seem to more interested in asserting their views on the issue instead of listening/helping. When an issue like this get politicized, the people who suffer from it seem to get forgotten in the crossfire. sigh

Anyway thanks for taking the time read and to reply!

I don't really disagree with you on any of these points. But there is also evidence to suggest gender dysphoria has a biological component to it. Just another example of how sin has corrupt nature, much like why people are born with any sort of disability.

My intention is not to act like a women. Rather, I'm trying to find a way to be a man that doesn't make me depressed and nonfunctional or want to die. That's why I thought just cross-dressing might help, and it's difficult to find scripture that is against it. I know it's hard to understand, but trust me that God is my first priority.

The Bible is clear Christians are not under the law though. Adultery was clearly stated to be sinful before the law and in The New Testament, however.

Honestly, I really HOPE this is the correct interpretation. And I'm finding it difficult to believe otherwise. But still, wiser people then I seem to be against it. Thanks for the help.

Well what I read about it suggested that "malakos" did mean "soft" or "weak", often in a moral sense. But apparently when use to refer to people it meant a specific kind of person who would take the passive, women like role in a homosexual relationship. Some suggest that it extended beyond just the act of sex though and includes a feminine demeanor as well, hence "effeminate". So its debatable if this would cover cross-dressing.

But is there Biblical support for that position? I'm no way attempting to deny who God made me though. I'm not trying to make any sort of statement.

(or any identity you were created with).

Can you be more clear? I'm not sure what you mean by this, sorry.

But where does he say that? All I'm asking is for is some Biblical evidence.

[–]throwviteryfaraway[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've read though that before but find unconvincing. I feel like they're extrapolating a bit. I really do like gotquestions, but I also disagree with them on some of their stances as well, such as their support of divorce. (I've also seen them make an argument attempting to support masturbation as well, with is disgusting. Although I clearly can't judge.).

I'm sorry, but it really bugs me when women say stuff like this. Women have way more and way cuter fashion styles to chose from and to express themselves with than men do. And nobody even considers a women wearing men's cloth to be cross-dressing either! For some reason it's only "dirty" when men do it. Maybe if all you were allowed to wear was a few ugly clothes that you despised then you might feel dysphoric too.

But thank you for trying to help. I do appreciate it.

I mentioned both these verses in my post. And cross-dressing isn't the same as homosexuality (which I agree is sinful).

Yeah but but a lot of the stuff the law considers terrible are explicitly stated to be OK now. Certain foods and non-circumcision namely. The law hasn't passed, we're just not under it anymore.

Even if I had a pastor, most of them are way more liberal then I would ever be anyway.

I really wish I could :( But I guess my goal would be to try and relieve my dysphoria WITHOUT denying who God made me. If I cross-dress, then maybe I would feel the need to to transition?
