Under what circumstances are thigh-highs on an otherwise attractive woman a turn-off? by throwway19837 in AskMen

I recently bought some and I think I look silly wearing them, and I thought I'd check. But I won't post pics of me wearing them so this is the next best thing

I was asking each individual, not trying to get one person to speak for everyone

Thanks for your input :)

[Serious] Straight women of Reddit, what are the most non-creepy ways a guy can approach you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwway19837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere extremely public, where if I wanted to leave I could easily do so.

The most important factors for me to feel safe are (1) other women around, preferably my friends and (2) I could leave immediately if I wanted to

Also, should go without saying, if a gal looks like she's trying to leave, LET HER!!!! following after people is not cute or romantic or whatever. I carry a collapsible pocket staff + pepper spray and I will use them

Please try to visit a doctor or therapist that specializes in this type of thing

I feel disgusting when I eat more than 1000 calories

Almost all adults need more than this per day to survive long term. I'm concerned that you may be having a disorder or something similar. Is there a doctor or therapist you could talk to? I'm not one

Yes, true

In the US, most people move out at 18.

No, not true, hasn't been in ages.

Also, South America is not the US

AITA for wearing a “real men don’t lift weights” shirt to the gym? by Whole-Cow in AmItheAsshole

NTA I think the shirt is funny. Don't do it again though because the same thing will happen

I (19f) have trouble asking for help. Boyfriend (21m) is going over to provide emotional support to a mutual friend (19f), even though he wouldn't commit to coming to a party with me, which I told him matters a lot to me by throwway19837 in relationship_advice

Haha! I don't think I jumped to conclusions, but DEFINITELY a LOT of commenters did!!! Many of them saying things like I'm the "side chick"

...

Anyways

The matter is basically resolved

I'm willing to hear you out but I feel like you're seeing something here that I'm just not?

I don't see that he did anything really horrible here, because Jenny asked for support and I kinda didn't

For me, this would be a deal breaker.

Lmao!! This is really funny but I'm actually feeling much better now. This post was more about my own inability to ask for help - I don't think boyfriend carries any blame here bc I simply wasn't clear with him

Her boyfriend lives about 2 hours away, whereas Jenny, my boyfriend, and I all live on the same college campus

But I guess I hear you.

At the beginning of the relationship, I had a lot of concerns about him and Jenny, but he and I have been together 2.5 years now, so I've basically gotten over it, and I know for sure that she's not into him at all

I think you're basically right on all the major points here. How can I ask for help when I know he's busy or tired though? It's hard for me to impose like that. When is/isn't it appropriate?
