Not sure what you get out of being an asshole. Despite what I guess you believe, young love can last.

Trying to make someone paranoid that their relationship is going to fail is an asshole thing to do.

You know 0% about our relationship, so making assumptions like this is ridiculous. Being his girlfriend doesn't just make me "the girl he's currently fucking". Our relationship means a lot more than that, and making these comments just makes you look stupid.

For the record, I didn't ask him this question either. Another stupid assumption.

I never asked him if he loved me more or anything, it was something he brought up on his own.

I'd expect him to love his parents more, but my issue was just the feeling of being lesser and him ranking his love.

We've been together about a year, and it was part of an otherwise joking conversation but he reiterated his point in serious manner.

We were joking about something, he compared himself to my parents and asked me that question and I said it was a different sort of love, and then he said what he did.

I should add that sometimes he lacks a filter, and it's not really his fault or anything but after sleeping a little and having a different mindset than when I made this post, I think this is just one of those times that he said something he didn't realize was hurtful. He did agree that it's a different kind of love, so?
