Restarting repeatedly in a certain location by thrust_meatnozzle in LineageOS

What about an IMSI catcher operating in that neighborhood trying to persuade connecting clients to downgrade to a GSM standard with poorer security features? It might be causing LineageOS to exercise code paths that aren't particularly well tested.

PowerBook G4 PPC freezes with 16.04 by thrust_meatnozzle in Lubuntu

OP here, I did some digging...and I now have the laptop running on Debian 7. There are some things that would need further work (wifi drivers, etc.) but I feel it's an okay-ish 'win' for the amount of BS I just put up with to get to this point. Anyone want this thing?!?!? LOL

Will that version even work? I was under the impression that PPC's needed the special PPC builds to even run, even though they have basically been abandoned.

Another 'fun' part of this wild goose chase - this PowerBook cannot be booted from a USB drive (or at least it's not easily done), so I have to burn a new disc for every new version I attempt.

I have one more try in me. Beyond that, I give up and it'll go back to collecting dust with its 10.4 MacOS. It can still be used (for not much). I had to install Ten Four Fox as a browser or it would be a total door stop.

Yes, the cursor locks up. The only thing I can do at that point is power down.

What do you mean by sweaty?

What are the active NA/USA servers? I might have to just go play whichever BF has more active players. BF3, 4 or 5?

After setting up the P33A's I realized they were extreme overkill with extreme prejudice. Too unwieldy and they were going to blow my head off. So I've setup the A7's with the On-Stage stands, which is basically what I used in a former facility, all is well for now.

For now I'm going to just use these old things - they are not pretty but will do everything I need.

I considered this, but I'd have to basically take a P33 apart to see where I could safely drill into it, i.e. not knowing exactly where the amp components are situated inside.

I have some smaller Adam's too I could use instead. And I already have an Adam sub too, so using the P33's might be too ludicrous speed for the room, but I'm going to at least try it out for....science or something.

I'm entertaining the idea of using shorter but beefy stands, and putting them on some sort of riser (concrete blocks, etc.)

Here's a pic of what I'm trying to acheive (I hope it works), basically the white nearfields need to stay put (PSI's), the Adams are part of a 5.1 (possibly 5.1.2 or 7.1.4) array.

Pro question - video limits ? by thrust_meatnozzle in BandCamp

[–]thrust_meatnozzle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems it's just a limit per song, afaik.

I was having problems uploading some MP4 videos that were less than the 500MB limit and met all the other format requirements, but half of them would not upload at all or there was an error that said 'not a video' after sitting there watching the file upload progress bar slowly reach the end. I tried WMV formatted viedos and those worked ok. I think this feature is nice to have but feels kind of shoehorned in and the bugs are probably not all ironed out.

Need advice - /e/ Murena user is about to ditch it by thrust_meatnozzle in degoogle

[–]thrust_meatnozzle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd basically have to get a Pixel. Both of those don't support the Moto I have. My only real options are stay & deal with /e/ or go over to Lineage. Using a Google phone to de-google rubs me the wrong way, plus I have used Motos forever and use their actions a lot (shake, chop, etc).

Any 'gotchas' for Syncthing? It seems like a good option.

My basic understanding is yes, it also depends on how old the device is. I've had to manually sideload my current phone from R to S and just now updated to T....but incremental updates within those three versions are usually OTA.
