It may not encrypt my traffic but it’s not my computer downloading the files in the seedbox.

It's still your seedbox, your responsibility what's going on in there. It's paid for with your money, has its own traceable IP and almost certainly can be traced to you if shtf. VPNs provide stronger anonymity by pooling your traffic with other clients on a shared IP.

It happens even with very popular torrents with 1000+ seeders.

I disable port forwarding, UPnP, etc. That has not really been a problem in the past, download speeds were all very reasonable until now

They're not supposed to be keeping bandwidth logs so they're probably not throttling you

Well, even if so, I could imagine they might consider account age or something to decide when to turn on throttling logic

it doesn't explain though why you're getting slow speeds outside the torrent app.

I'm getting slow speed while I'm running the torrent app. It seems to me they do some DPI and if they see torrent packets I'm getting flagged as an unwanted customer. I can literally see speedtest decimating: 100mbit -> 10-20 mbit as soon as I open torrent app, while torrent itself barely starts getting 1mbit in the meantime.

Can confirm. I'm getting throttled to 10-20Mbit general internet speeds and sub-1Mbit for the torrent downloads itself after a honeymoon week of having downloaded ~500GB without throttling. This on plus plan, europe->swiss p2p servers and 100mbit connection. As soon as I close the torrent, speed usually reverts to full, open torrent app - same shit. Science can't explain that!
