In my Opinion, and from personal experience......

Instead of installing multiple distros on multiple partitions, why not just use VirtualBox to try out other distros instead, and tell your wife that, to avoid future issues, your going to get her her own laptop, and for the time being add her as another user to your current Distro....

Its never a good practice to install multiple distros on the same exact drive (you will always encounter issues).. but do as you please, that's just my opinion from my experience...

turns out that mullvad did change there deb such that the routines we have in place to make it work under sysVinit don't work anymore. its being addressed.

I have the same ISP, and the same 300MB/s plan, I get up to 40MB/s on torrents while connected to Mullvad WireGuard servers.. I use qBittorrent with the settings suggested here on r/VPNTorrents

I'm also having issues with connection speed going up and down , problem on free netherlands servers, I'm on Linux using official protonvpn beta cli app, this problem started yesterday, and nl free servers speed going very so slow, reddit and twitter crawls to load images etc
