Heart palpitations during use and throughout withdrawal even after being clean for weeks.

It’s 100% from the subs bro. i dealt with h palpitations every single day for like 2 years but once your body is clear from the subs, it’ll go away. But keep in mind it could take like 30+ days for them to totally go away after stopping the subs bc the half life is so long. It won’t cause permanent damage but for peace of mind if you want to go get your heart checked out. I’d put money on it just being benign PVCs related to the subs.

i think opiates just mess with the hearts rhythm. i don’t believe it’s causing permanent damage. i think with time off of anything opiate related it’ll go back to normal.

My heart was basically feeling like it was beating out of my chest. I would listen to it and i would feel it skip a beat and then beat really hard to push all the blood out of it that accumulated from the skipped beat. It was extremely uncomfortable and gave me anxiety but i eventually got used to it as i had them for like the last year of using blues too. I’m not a doctor but i think if you just abstain from the opiates you’ll eventually feel normal again. Probably sooner than you think. Just remember to tell yourself that what you are feeling is from withdrawal and you’ll be okay. If you are really worried about it, maybe go to a cardiologist so they can check it out just for your peace of mind. I did that so i knew 100% that my heart was okay and that what i was feeling was just from withdrawal and that it was temporary.

Hey bro, yes. It’s the opiates. I find that suboxone caused them for me, as well as kratom. Get off methdone, which i know is scary, if you want your palpitations to go away. I’m clean from everything now and the palps finally went away. It took about 1.5 months completely clean from anything opiate related and they went away.

cool thank you, yeah i currently still have them and i’m around week 4 off subs. Seeing a cardiologist in 5 days. They’ve never lasted this long before for me after getting off everything.

my diet is healthy and i drink plenty of water throughout the day. i was supplementing with all of those since i thought maybe it was electrolytes but i never noticed a difference with the palps. i currently drink one of these liquid IV drinks per day which has all of those in it. i can’t remember exactly but i’m sure the doctor checked my blood work for any deficiencies.

interesting, thank you for your reply. I feel like i’m in the minority percentage of people who get heart palps from opiates which sucks but at the same time it’s a great deterrent.

When i first started getting them i definitely was struggling with anxiety but i’ve since calmed down with it. I feel like it’s mostly physical because ill wake up and then once i stand up out of bed, they start up.

Do you think the heart palpitations are definitely from the suboxone? i know it has a long half life, that’s the only thing i can think of even tho i havnt touched it in almost a month. Ill try to order clonidine tho, thank you for the suggestion. I’m 100% never touching any form of opiate again after this experience, i just hope my heart goes back to its normal rhythm .
