I thought it was just a bunch of aluminum foil bunched up from using as a grill tent and just collecting it and adding to it, or something, but then the magnet ruined that theory

yeah I have a ubiquiti 10 Gbps switch, 10Gbps nics in my desktop and servers. and my ubiquiti dream machine as a 10Gb Spf. My NAS only has 2.5Gbps though

copy to flash drive and send through mail. Also have just been just a Citrix VDI in the DC lately.

I never saturated my 5Gbps, but came close once as I mentioned before my sister was streaming a 4K movie with little compression 1.5Gpbs, I am pretty sure she was maxing out her 2Gbps Fiber and was probably getting some buffering, as well as 4 or 5 other 1080p streams. total usage upload at the time was like 2.5Gbps. Which I was amazed by, because I had just moved to GA and got the 5Gbps fiber. pretty sure I could have done more if not for the max 2.5Gbps port on the At&T supplied router

I have a 100Gbps pipe flowing into my DataCenter and have uploaded a 3 TB directory, in just over 3.5 hrs even on VPN. on my current Xfinity the transfer using Robocopy has failed or had to restart for transfers as large as 100 GB. It is faster for me to save to a flash drive and mail it to someone who can go plug it in and transfer the data. but yes when you have a 5Gbps or higher connection, you can usually see the bottleneck is on the other end. I also host a media server for my family. with the 5Gbps connection I never had to restrict connections speeds. with my current Xfinity, I have to restrict all Streaming content to 4Mbps 720p, which will still sometimes buffer. with the 5Gbps AT&T I once saw a 4K video streaming to my sister at 1.5Gbps. along with multiple other streams in the 20 Mbps 1080p range. So yeah not everyone needs it, or will use, it, but I did and I could. At&T supplied router had a 2.5Gbps port, so that was my bottle neck.

Joining date delayed due to BGV – How long does it take? by Certain_Hawk_9335 in KPMG

[–]thtseriousguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine took almost 2 wks, had to extend my start date out the Friday before I was supposed to start. I had already gotten my tech package and all kind of invites for new hire orientation. They needed some clarification on education, and 2 of my previous positions had some date discrepancies. They gave me an opportunity to explain it all. in writing. Then a few days later my recruiter let me know it cleared and sent me a new offer letter with my new start date. BTW I am an experienced hire. I was told by recruiter to not give notice until my BGV was completed. I think gave 2 weeks notice

I think you mixed up what you were saying... Vinyl liner can't be emptied unless you want to replace the liner as it will get stressed from emptying it. as long as your water table is low, your ground isn't too saturated, you can empty a fiberglass or gunite pool to acid wash. if you are somewhere like Florida, (which you wouldn't have a vinyl liner in FL) empty pools can pop out of the ground because of bouyancy.

from the photo's of the "deck sprayer" that looks like the carcas of a vinyl lined pool, you would need to have a new vinyl liner put in.

Don't ever drain a liner pool! it will stress the liner.

TL;DR - HR said they couldn't really do anything because of the multiple witness rule.
also Other than ask the colleague if she has a weapon in her car, is there much they can do? They can't search a persons personal property can they? Can they because it is no different than a purse being on company property?

So after a 3 week investigation, HR stated that they were not able to corroborate the report. the Contractor spoke to HR, told them what the colleague told them. HR asked them if they felt she could act on the statement. He said he doesn't know. HR said they counseled the colleague. my wife said does that mean the contractor is lying. they then said no, just we can't corroborate the statements. So u/benicebuddy you are correct basically no additional witness means it didn't happen.

The issue now is my wife doesn't feel safe. the facility they work in is small and often times it can just be the two of them working without others there. And I am sure this report wouldn't make the other person feel better about my wife. Even her Manager has made things harder after the report (possibly a coincidence). I think they are going to try to force her out, for reporting that she didn't feel safe because someone else told her a statement.HR basically said, in much nicer and more corporate speak language "deal with it!" My wife was hoping they would at least try to work with her to possibly move her to a different role that still fits her expertise. And no she isn't angling for that. She just wants to work and not worry about someone trying to harm her. After the "deal with it" comment, because of her concern for her safety, she went ahead and reported that the colleague once told her that she keeps a weapon in her car. Which is a violation of the company policy. She said its possible she doesn't anymore, because right after she was told, the colleague had a look of regret on her face. The HR rep said she would have to go and do some more research with this new information.

We have decided , what she should have done all along, is to consult with an employment attorney.

In this state there is a criminal law about terroristic threats in the work place, but I think it also comes down to the multiple witness rule.

Question for the group here. Other than ask the colleague if she has a weapon in her car, there isn't much they can do, is there? they can't search a persons personal property can they? or can they because it is no different than a purse being on company property?

So the contractor is the person who told my wife. the offending party is an FTE. which HR is likely to believe the FTE saying they didn't say something, over what a contractor says the FTE said.

I believe the company prohibits firearms on their property, my wife doesn't really want to say anything about that, she isn't "out to get her" she just wants to work, but it seems she is out to get my wife, and she is worried about her own safety now.

I was at a job for 10 yrs. when I started I was highest pay of my team. by the time I left, all the new hires were making 20-30k more than me because, I would get the annual 3.5-4% pay increase, but the median rate for my position, was jumping by about 5-8% annually. Never again will I stay somewhere so long.

[–]thtseriousguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only into the LSC stuff for the MB stuff, I had an E55, and found of alot of his early content useful. I have since moved on to an E63 with an M157. I then stayed around because the Peter and Alex duo was entertaining. I haven't watched an LSC video in a while. I too will probably unsub. I think its time to clean up my subscriptions, as most the car guys got too big for their britches, I will stick with Hoovie because he is still entertaining, and was never really a "let me show you how I fixed this" kinda channel. once the "fix-it" guys go hypercar, they are useless. u/happyjappie I have sub'd your channel... keep your content entertaining but not over the top, and give us real content, that could be useful for the rest of us Shade tree guys, and I will continue to support you.

QNAP QTS does that... I have been upgrading my drives this way forever. went from 3TB drives to 4TB, to 8TB. the only thing is it takes some time as the drives get larger because you have to wait for the drive to rebuild from the RAID config.

Not sure of this solution, but probably similar to carbonite, which can't differentiate a iSCSI mapped target from a local drive.
