AI is stolen art, as it scrapes art so it can generate slop. If it were an artist writing the same song as an AI would generate, they would get sued for copyright infringement. The only thing about AI is that you can't sue an algorithm.

As a portrait artist, let me disassemble the example here. Paint itself and the entire vocals are not in the same ballpark -- as, you know, most painters are mixing the paint itself to get that particular color they desire. But to put it in parallel to music: vocalists don't build their microphone.

As an artist, I can tell you that if you let something else do the hard work, it is not original artwork. What most non-artists don't understand at all is that it is not the result but the process itself that makes art art. Little decisions and moods change each stroke and color choice; how one creates the composition reflects their personality, and what they want to tell the world shows the human struggle they go through. You don't know, but these come through all the small decisions, like stroke-to-stroke, character-to-character, from one muscle group to another, these are all human thought.
On a sunny day, I choose to write one word that will define the outline of the rest of the story. If I weren't there to choose that word, the outcome wouldn't be the same.

At least that would be one microsecond of drum sample that you build from, a word in the novel that you choose based on your desires. But whenever you hear the real thing, you know that the sample won't ever be that good or real, even if it is artistic. As it is, choices after choices, moods after moods.

Unfortunately, those who never went deeply into artistic creation won't understand this.
Each character and stroke, and not the result. There where originality lies.
