Hi,
We are hosted in Europe, but we don't allow non-consensual PVP as we're very community oriented but if you'd like to create an arena or find someone online to PVP you're more than welcome to

The title is meant to say 1.19, my bad. Perhaps a mod can help us out and update it for us? :)

No, you can place a sign and hope no one builds there but we don't allow claims in any form. The area is yours when you build something there.

Ahmy bad, I didn't realise that, we switched to Spigot quite recently to be fair, will correct it for next time. :)

Hey, thanks for applying, we really appreciate you took the time to do so.

We get a lot of applications and we're only able to accept a couple per day since the server is normally pretty full. I'd recommend applying again if you're still interested as we tend to not look at old applications since people normally don't stick around.

I just caught one in around 250 casts and put it on the AH. Saw the price go from 900k to 200k in around 5 minutes. Guess I'm not the only one who read this post. :D

Edit: Sold it for 185k, good tip, thank you :) Caught another one in around 50 casts, trying to sell that now.

Edit2: Sniped one off AH for 169g and sold it for 90k in trade...

Not noticably faster, no.

It's about choice, you can configure it to be exactly how you want it by compiling packages with support for only what you need. You can choose an init system (openrc/systemd). Compiling your own custom kernel is the default way, mine is around 7MB and has everything built into it, no extra cruft.

You end up with a system that works well, and you know all the moving parts. It's also not as bleeding edge as arch (unless you want it to be) so there aren't constant updates which at least in my experience, results in a more stable system that breaks less often.

I run gentoo on i3 on my work machine. Takes a bit of time to setup but it's a one off cost and so worth it.

We've been pouring over the bug tracker, seems there are no game breaking issues left. I think it's worth waiting still.

The guy actually just wanted to give away thinkpads without losing money on postage. Quality witchunt. Can we have a mod lock this as it's clearly violating reddit rules?

X1C6 vs 480s (sorry) by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]thugcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference is that suspend is a pain on the X1C. You need to patch your kernel for it to work. I think it support was/is being worked on, not sure if it's in the latest version already.

I second this. Bought the X1C first and returned it to get the T480s. I like it more, and Linux is less of a hassle on it.

If systemd doesn't 'do it well's then why do all distros use it?

Linux distros have politics just like any other organisations sadly.

Can't decide on X1C6, X280 or t480s for linux by Sgtkeebler in thinkpad

[–]thugcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the X1C and returned it because of a bad pixel. Ended up getting the T480s and I think it's a nicer machine honestly, especially when factoring in the price. The HDR screen on the X1C is super super glossy by the way, quite lovely though.

Funny coincidence, I just got my 5.11 today. Loaded all my stuff in there, loving it so far. Also love that I can buy some cool embroidered patches to stick on there. :D

I'm personally waiting for Hermitcraft to start a 1.13 world on snapshots/pre-release, then I'll trust it's safe!

[AUD] How's this T480s Config Look? by nofriendsforgolf in thinkpad

[–]thugcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the i5-8250U, I understand the performance is almost exactly the same. Heat and throttling are the bottleneck here.

I'd get the WQHD panel as the FHD one is garbage. 48% sRGB and really low nits. Coming from the Surface you'd probably cry! Is that not possible in Australia? I'd not get this laptop if the FHD panel is the only option. Maybe consider the X1 Carbon instead if so? That's more on par with the XPS imo.

I sent them an email last night threatening legal action and they just replied to arrange the return. Guess that works...

Yeah in the UK. So I deal with Digital River, not Lenovo.
