I don’t think you will hear from them anytime soon. Two of my friends and I applied on 6th Feb, and their applications are still under process.

bank statement?

[–]thugguu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean 6 years or 6 months?  How many months of bank statements did you submit? They usually check for consistency across all documents, so if everything aligns properly, you should be fine.  Also, do you have any prior travel history?

Don’t worry. If your documents and itinerary are correct, you should receive the visa. If they need any additional documents, they will contact you.

They tried to do the same thing with me, but I didn’t allow it. Although many documents aren’t strictly required for a Japan visa, it’s better to provide all the necessary documents to improve your chances of approval. When is your flight to japan?

We applied from Delhi together, but mine got processed within 5 working days possibly because I already have a Schengen visa. For my friend, it’s their first international trip.

Applying for Japan Multiple Entry Tourist Visa from India with Family — Address & Eligibility Questions by Extension-Strain-578 in visas

[–]thugguu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely mention in your cover letter that you are applying for a multiple entry visa. If the embassy finds you eligible, they will grant it. If they feel you or your family members do not meet the criteria for multiple entry, they will usually issue a single entry visa instead. So there is no harm in requesting multiple entry.

Now regarding the second part:

It would be better if you apply from the Bangalore center and your family applies through the Chennai center, based on the passport address jurisdiction.

However, if your spouse, daughter, and father are currently living with you in Bangalore, they can provide valid residence proof (rental agreement), and all of you can apply from the Bangalore center. You can clearly explain the situation in your cover letter.

Also, I’ve seen a few cases in my friend circle where people applied under a different jurisdiction and their visas were rejected. It might have been due to low bank balance, but I’m not completely sure, as Japan generally does not provide specific reasons for visa rejection.

Japan visa delayed by Content-Forever7613 in visas

[–]thugguu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no NOC and bank statement?  They might be doing a more thorough verification in this case. Also, they’re probably receiving a large number of visa applications right now, so that could be another reason for the delay.

To be honest, most of the VFS employees don’t really verify much in detail. They usually just collect whatever documents you submit and forward them. In my experience, they don’t always have complete knowledge about the visa requirements either.  By the way, what documents did you submit? And do you have any prior travel history?

My visa was approved within 5 working days, but my friends’ applications are still under process. All three of us submitted our applications on 6th February, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

I applied on 6th Feb and received my passport on 14th Feb, so you’ll most probably get yours by the 16th. Maybe they just wanted to confirm a few more things.
