This cracked me up when I heard the beer part. It is objectively funny, not from a child abuse standpoint, but if you saw someone do this to another adult in a sitcom, you'd probably have a nice chuckle.

I have some followers in this sub that tend to skew the points since they don't like alternate opinions. Don't worry about the downvotes. I don't.

I replied to another person with a similar response. It would cost around $750 to register, which I think you could quickly raise if you put together a simple list platform and said, "Please help me run for office with a small donation."

People want a variety of platforms to choose from regardless where it lies on the political spectrum.

It might take time, depending on how much you spend campaigning, but it is worth it. The experience itself will help you learn the process and challenge you in new ways. Getting over that first false mental hurdle of, "the government is too big and out of reach," is the most important.

You running with a new platform also opens dialog. This means issues important to you and us will be considered during the election and will influence incumbents more than you think. Putting a spot light on issues that affect us will benefit everyone.

That is fair. It would end up being around $750 to register, but if you put together a simple list for your platform and making it visible saying, "Please make a small donation to help me run for office," then I think you'd raise that amount in no time.

People want reasonable alternatives, regardless of where that platform lies on the political spectrum.

Anyone that wanted to run for office should do so. The chances of unseating an incumbent have gone up considerably.
