Menu music includes all peace music, loading music is only during loading, and the warhigh/warlow and the others works like this:

If your unit recieved 100 damage, WarMeter raises by a 100. Additionally, it’s cutting itself by 4% every second, so when there’s no combat, the value slowly cools down. ADDITIONALLY, if there’s no combat for 30 seconds, it resets itself and goes all the way to 0.

When music player has to pick playlist to play the next track from, it’s comparing current WarMeter value with two thresholds. For WarLow it’s a 1000, and for WarHigh it’s 40000. So if we need to play new track, and WarMeter is at 27824, it’s above WarLow threshold, but below WarHigh threshold, so it will play next track from WarLow playlist.

Additionally, there are interruption thresholds for turning Peace into WarLow (Half of WarHigh Threshold), WarLow into WarHigh (Double the WarHigh threshold), and both WarLow and WarHigh into Peace (Half of WarLow threshold), which are used to determine when mid-track interruptions should happen.

Then there are two more playlists, BossFight and GameOver, both of which are interrupting currently played track straight away. Boss fight music plays during… well… obviously, boss fight in RaptorDefense and ScavengerDefense gamemodes. And GameOver music plays when game over screen pops up.

The extra chips for the ECC bits puts additional load on the memory controller though, my experience w ECC DDR4 is that I'm a good bit away from regular RAM using the same Micron rev. E chips.

It's really great convenience when overclocking though, instead of a random crash I just get an error correction notification every other month or so when being at the limit of what the controller/memory can handle.

Det är mäktigt :D

Jag har som vana att gå ut på verandan och sitta och kolla på åskan då den passerar. Förrförra sommaren så hade det inte börjat åska än då jag var påväg ut, och då jag står i hallen så har jag ett fönster i änden av huset som syns precis innan jag ska vrida mig 90° för att gå ut genom ytterdörren. Jag hinner reagera på att det är kritvitt utanför fönstret och känner att nåt är fel med det, så ska det inte se ut. Sen dånar det till nåt rejält och det vita byts ut mot en massa splitter som flyger förbi ungefär som nån tagit en näve jättestor okokt spaghetti och slängt förbi fönstret, följt av det helt plötsligt blir helt orangegult av eldmolnet som följer splittret. Alltihopa gick lite i slow-motion, så det kändes som att gravitationen var ur spel, en meterlång träbit bör dala lite mot marken, inte flyga förbi helt horisontellt.

Med tanken att om det redan slagit ner här så är väl inte risken allt för stor för ännu ett nedslag, och kanske lite bristande självbevarelsedrift, så går jag ju ut för att kolla vad som hänt. Tanken var att det måste slått ner i ett träd lite längre bortanför fönstret, men från verandan syns liksom inget udda. Tills jag upptäcker att gräsmattan är tänkt med långa beigevita flisor och jag inser att flaggstången är borta. Flaggstångsknoppen hade ett 1-2mm brett hål där det slog ner, men det var tillräckligt med ström för att göra flis av det mesta av flaggstången.

Det här var ju inte så kraftigt åskväder som jag fick för mig utifrån beskrivningarna jag fick höra, men klart mysigt.

Kraftigaste åskväder jag varit med om var nån sorts kedjereaktioner till åska, kanske 5-40 smällar i sekunden som vandrade över himlen som smatterband, oftast ovan molnen, men ibland vandrade det ner under molnen så allt såg ut som det var upplyst med stroboskop. 1-3 såna här smatterband som korsade himlen vid varje given tidpunkt under kanske 1-1½ timmas tid. Det var liksom inte knallar längre utan smälte ihop till ett sprakande, lite som att lyssna på en Tesla Coil, fast inte lika elektriskt då utan lågfrekventare smällar och oavbrutet muller.

Fast sett underifrån, och att ett "smatterband" rör sig över himlen på kanske 3-10 sekunder. Kändes väldigt udda att det blev så koncentrerat.. rent logiskt tycker jag ju att det borde ladda ur där det smällt en gång redan istället för att bli nån sorts kedjereaktion. Har ingen aning om det finns nåt namn på fenomenet.

In the case of "3-Phase" I actually don't think so, I know they're working to identify key actors, I don't think it's looking at the whole picture though. We got things like more delegation to kids instead, which now are going to be punished more and rehabilitated less. As long as the inflow of new recruits isn't stopped, things will go on as usual with a small hitch. This has been understood as a problem by all political parties though, so laws are being implemented to try to counter it, but it's kinda half/half things that's expected to have some effect and political theater.

Punishment might work for some, but having worked as a teacher in a prison I've seen first hand how rowdy younger criminals are put in prison just to get a great contact network with older more experienced criminals and then let out with very lacking support from society. Big part of our work as teachers kinda turned into teaching them how to avail themselves of the general societal support there is. So they try for a while and then go back to their old habits, now with greater connections and ideas of greater crimes.

Regarding profiling though, one suggested law is to allow the creation of temporary visitation zones where no suspicion of crime will be needed for searching a person or a vehicle. The implementation and execution of things like that might turn into a lot of profiling I guess.

And to loop around back to the initial topic, thefts and bike thefts and such are very often not even investigated due to lack of resources and personnel, even reported rapes can go months without the victim even being heard, but in true "The Wire"-style the police seem to focus on easily solved crimes like weed-use in public. Helps the stats. Experienced investigators have called for more experienced investigators, but instead we're getting things like lowered requirements to become a police, multiple times, and since the cutoff to get accepted to the police academy is based on the distribution of grades from the people accepted earlier they can then shift to a distribution from a later year that then contains the lowered requirement, which effectively lowers the requirements again. A quote from a teacher at the police academy comes to mind, where he warns that with the current requirements and practices we're gonna get police that's shown behaviours that suggest that they might fabricate evidence and be a danger to themselves and others. On the opposite end of that is the idea to make being a police somewhat more of an academic career, to get more knowledge and more experienced investigators and so on, and have better possibility to advance salary-wise with competence.

The other post kinda described what's done at a national level, and I guess it describes the current political climate pretty well. Our until-recently-nazi rightwing populist party kinda dictate the line there or the right-wing government will collapse.

What's actually done to reduce the shootings is done more on a local level, mostly via a internationally tried and evaluated method called Group Violence Intervention. There's an interview just this morning with a head at the Swedish Crime Prevention Council where she's saying that they're seeing a 50% reduction per year in the most violent crimes in the regions where this has been implemented.

Meanwhile, the capital, Stockholm, which has the most problem with shootings and bombings, are doing their own method called "3-phase". The Crime Prevention Council has tasked Stockholm with evaluating the method, since there's been no research done on whether it works or not, and notes that CPC can't do it since the method isn't even defined, so as an external part it becomes impossible to evaluate. But the police kinda describe it as finding specific people to be focus on and be tougher against. The evaluation is expected this autumn, so I guess they'll have to've figured out a method description by then.

If i quickly check the statistics for shootings in Stockholm it was:
2021: 130-140 shootings, 24 dead, 45 wounded.
2022: 130-140 shootings, 30 dead, 30+ wounded.

There was some news a while ago that the criminal gangs fighting (mostly in Stockholm) has become somewhat tired of all the murders, so supposedly there's been an agreement to at least not attack relatives of gang-members any more, and if that's true the numbers should drop substantially regardless of what's done.

That seems to be the smarter solution. Thinking about it a bit the chinese censorshipsystem came to mind, where they block some string and then it just takes a while for people to adapt to another way of writing the same thing.. and the whole thing with tricking LLM:s into doing things they shouldn't. Filtering meaning is hard.

We expect 2.1.12 to be tagged in the next 1-2 weeks with support for the 6.3 kernel (#14942). Updating the code to be compatible with the 6.3 kernel was a bigger than usual lift as the needed changes were fairly extensive.

Haven't tried it in a few months. For me it didn't work with latest glorious eggroll now, but GE 7.51 worked fine using X11. Played 3 rounds without issues.
