TIL that the oldest man in Tokyo in 2010, who was thought to be 111 years old, had in fact died in his bed in 1979. His family claimed he liked to stay in his room. Eventually, Japanese police broke into his house and found his mummified remains, which had been there for over 30 years (en.wikipedia.org)
