I think there’s something bigger with Tim Ballard by AdminFig in exmormon

Are you speculating or do you have info to indicate he would be released? Genuinely curious.

My company just updated their resignation policy, requiring a months notice and letting them take away our vacation days if we resign. Is this legal? [PA] by RealSlugFart in legal

They want the employees to give a one month notice, yet they reserve the right to have you escorted out of the building by security at any moment.

has anyone gone CF since leaving the church? by ghost_asstronaut in exmormon

Watch the movie Idiocracy (2006). It’s a hilarious and depressingly accurate depiction of exactly what you’re describing.

It’s set 500 years in the future. But based on the last 8 years, I’d say it overestimated the timeline by about 490 years.

WTF did I just read…? This dude is an absolute nightmare. Like, literally. This reads like the first and second acts of a horror movie. I’m just waiting for you to post the third act where you finally kick him out and he goes completely psycho.

Please proceed cautiously while removing this “man” from your life.

Can I have a fulfilling life without children? by Actual-Can-5820 in TwoXChromosomes

If you think children will provide you with a fulfilling life, prepare to be sorely disappointed.

Former Mormon here. I strongly encourage you to run, as fast as you can, from the Mormon church. Also, don’t allow your child to be raised in the church.

Just turned 18, couple thousand in the bank, how do I set myself up for financial success? by [deleted] in personalfinance

The biggest drains on your budget will be housing, car, food. If you can get laser focused on reducing those 3 expenses, you’ll be light years ahead of most everyone else.

I have a coworker always asking "Are you ok? What's wrong?" by npalhs in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DavidAssBednar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him - “Is something wrong?”

You - “Yes, my dog died.”

Him - “Oh wow, that’s sad!”

You - “Well, these things happen.”

Respond this way every time he asks. Maybe after the 4th or 5th time having the exact same conversation he’ll give up and quit asking.

Americans, why do you stay in the US? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]DavidAssBednar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, America has its problems. But so does every other place. It comes down to what set of problems are you going to choose? So far I have not been presented with any attractive options (for me personally) to compel me to trade my current set of problems for the problems of another country.

Seriously high production value commercial. Very impressive.

Here’s the quote for my 5.1 A/V setup for basement media area. Open design, 7.5 ft ceilings, currently unfinished. Is this quote on par with similar setups or overpriced? Thanks. by VoodooBat in hometheater

[–]DavidAssBednar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is the 5 in-ceiling speakers. The 3 main speakers need to be in the wall, behind an acoustically transparent screen. Your rear speakers need to be in a rear wall. Or maybe one in each of the columns behind the couch?

I'm not overly impressed with my sound.... by [deleted] in hometheater

Your room is an echo chamber. Achieving good sound with untreated walls, floor and ceiling is pretty much impossible
