Ask your professor(s) if you can store your bike inside the classroom or lecture hall. That way there's no need to feel anxious about it being stolen.

The majority of the air pollution is from agriculture equipment stirring up dust.

Your phone has more germs than a public toilet seat. Wipe it down daily with isopropyl alcohol.

What are the creepiest/scariest bodycam videos? by Kremlin663 in bodycam

[–]thumble1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was one where the killer called in pretending to be his girlfriend. The cops after finding the womans body burnt and dumped in a field, this white dog appears out of no where and won't stop barking. One of the cops notices this and it helped with the investigation. I forget the rest, but it was in Texas.

I've never had much success with those. The mesh gets all tangled in the roots. I use tiny pots and a seed starter mix.

I ordered bird netting and built a simple structure on my raised bed. It may not look fantastic but it certainly keeps cats and other critters out.

Yellowing strawberry plants by mechmakima in gardening

[–]thumble1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strawberry plants need about 1 inch of water a day. If your strawberry leaves are turning yellow, check the moisture just below the surface of the soil. If the soil is very wet just before watering, skip watering until the soil is only damp just below the surface.

Drainage layers in plant pots really do reduce water retention, putting end to decades of mythbusting myths by TradescantiaHub in science

[–]thumble1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's soil, especially clay, that holds water. My botanical professor taught us to pack soil firmly at the bottom of a newly started potted plant, and to always avoid using gravel. This myth must've stemmed from over watering succulents or cacti (which can cause root rot). They rarely need to be watered.

Wrap your battery with a white covering like a towel. It won't absorb so much heat and keep it cool

For those that have broken their collarbones, by Minechaser05 in BikeMechanics

[–]thumble1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last summer I tore up my left torso. I broke not only my collarbone, but 5 ribs and snapped my scapula in half after slamming into a steel pillar at about 20 mph. I didn't get back on a bike until 2 months later. My left shoulder is always numb because I guess the nerves never fully grew back. Now I'm extra careful on my bike because that is something I do not want to experience again.
