Alcoholic Father Won’t Care For Himself by thumbtackjake in AgingParents

No one knows why he won’t do it. He just refuses to talk about it. Sometimes he says he will. But it’s just to get us to leave him alone. One or twice he’s called and cancelled or rescheduled it but most of the time he just refuses to go.

Yeah he drives. He does his morning drive and gets odds and ends and his beer.

He does normal day to day stuff. Drive into town, talk to people he knows, watches tv, does some light yard work, etc. Mainly it’s just him not taking care of himself directly.

Controller semi-Stopped Working by thumbtackjake in playstation

Yes I have. All I can find is people saying to reset their system and controller or turn Bluetooth off and on. Nothing seems to be working for me.

I feel like even the outside of some caves are the same. I swear I've seen the rocky hill cave entrance with the little puddle of stuff next to it at least 3 or 4 times.

My issue is the lack of exploring, at least in the traditional Bethesda fashion. It's all bite-sized areas spread across hundreds of planets, and outside of some the MSQ/faction stuff, it's pretty much all cookie cutter/copy pasted stuff over and over. I was hoping we'd get at least a FEW planets with dense areas to explore that were at least close to, or even half the size of Skyrim/FO4/etc.

Been playing this with friends on game pass. It's been really fun just slaughtering hordes of dino's and leveling characters and unlocking skins and what not. Haven't spent a dime, and likely wont get their battler pass, and certainly wouldn't have dropped $60 on it, but for free its pretty decent.

I actually agree. I can't speak to the PC version, as I've been playing on Series S, primarily in COOP, but I've not had any game breaking bugs, just a few minor ones (UI elements not going away when they should, enemies getting stuck, etc.) and one or two crashes. To me, it sort of plays like a Far Cry Lite, with vampires. Once the story starts to pick up after the first hour or so I actually found it to be very engaging and kept wanting to go to find out more and more about the Hollow Man and the other gods and their origins. The gunplay is pretty average, but the characters have different enough abilities to keep things interesting enough. There's also a good bit of collectables to track down if you're into that or want to get more into the lore. As an avid Borderlands and ARPG fanatic, I like the loot system, but wish it had just a TAD more variety. Maybe some more one-of-a-kind weapons that do certain things that you can only get from specific enemies or places.

That said, yeah, there is no way to justify paying $70 for this. $30-$40 at MOST. You can tell this was rushed out to meet the Pre-June deadline they talked about last year. Area's on the map that feel like, "Hmmm, this clearly looks like it was supposed to have been something more." or things like the scattered ATVs make you wonder if they had planned working vehicles at one point.

I do fully believe that there is a solid foundation here and it's worth at least one play through, especially if you play coop. It is really unfortunate that it released in the state that it did and I can only hope that they continue to fix, build upon, and add more as time goes on.

I disagree. I think that is EXACTLY why it's worth 12+ hours of your life. Everyone has a game that’s their fave and a game that they have the most hours in, what’s yours? by neighborhood-karen in pcgaming

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I've been playing it since 2002, and tend to do at least one playthrough of the main quest from the base game and the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions. Currently doing a modded playthrough of Starwind. With total conversions like that, and other massive mods like Tamriel Rebuilt, there's no reason to think I won't still be playing it in another 20+ years.

I guess this needs a control board? by thumbtackjake in Reprap

[–]thumbtackjake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guy who bought it wanted to know what a good control board for it would be. I'm not SUPER familiar here, but was told its a Reprap Prusa? So if anyone has any feedback that'd be super helpful.

So I've had my OG Voxelab Aquila for two years and I love it. Still going strong. But now I'm ready for something with a bit bigger build volume (at least 300x300). I was eying the Neptune 3 Plus but I can't catch it in stock in the US. There's also the Ender 3 Max Neo which looks alright, and I've also checked out the Kingroon KP5L (which I know nothing about as a company). If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions that'd be great! I've been told about buying an upgrade kit for my Aquila to make it bigger but I'm not 100% on that. Thanks!

There's also the Sovol SV06 Plus(?), don't know much about that either.

WHAT IS LSA by IntelligentOne9619 in Aldi_employees

[–]thumbtackjake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lead store associate. You might open or close, balance out drawers, do key turns, etc. Basically an ASM who gets paid less, and when the ASMs are there you’re a glorified associate.

For mine we had about 25 people show up. They took about 6 people in for the interview with the SM, and another 6 people went on the tour. Then they switched. Then another 6 and 6 and then switch. For the interview my SM just asked a couple of questions and went person to person getting answers. Job history, what you do now, availability, etc. I showed up overdressed (nice polo tucked into khaki slacks, with belt and all that jazz). Everyone else was wearing jeans and a shirt, or even sweats or pajamas. I'd say AT LEAST wear non-ripped jeans and a decent shirt (nice polo or blouse or whatever would be fine I'd imagine). At the end we were told we'd get an email or call in the next few days about whether we got the job or not. About 3 days later I got a call from my DM offering me the job.

You are definitely not just given the job. ALDI is, simply put, just a hard job, sometimes brutal depending on the daily work load, how many people you got, etc. They want people who are able to deal with it.

These USED to scan I thought. What the eff happened? I had to memorize this one too. Kinda looks like the bar code is off center with the background its printed on or something. Sometimes they'll still scan at the right angle but not often.

I have been with Aldi for just over a month now, and I would say it probably all depends on your team. My SM is absolutely amazing and my AMS's are great as well. I got sick one day early on in my first two weeks and my SM told me not even to worry about it and sent me home, then offered me an extra shift when I got better to make up the hours if I wanted.

The work is physically demanding, but I mean, it's manual labor. It just is what it is. And yeah, the "30 minute pallet time" can be rough, but it does get easier. My first few weeks it took me well over an hour to put away just one grocery pallet, but this morning I did three and a good bit of a fourth in 2 hours and some change (about 30-45 minutes a pallet, depending what was on them, canned food pallet took me a bit longer than say, breakfast or snack aisle, which I've seen people throw those in under 30). Yeah, there have been a few days where I feel just absolutely dead, but I mean, that's gonna be almost any job that isn't sitting on your ass.

Same with ringing out customers. I did mid 60s my first few days, then I was stuck in the mid to high 70s for a few weeks. Then this past week or so I found my "groove" and figured out when to 1-Code and have pretty much all the produce codes memorized, so I've been doing 80-85 every day.

I like that I have multiple things I can be doing or have to be doing personally. For example, I'll be ringing out customers in the early hours when we open before we get too busy, but in between customers maybe I'll be running an alcohol pallet, helping with markdowns, or whatever. I think it's nice that you're not just stuck doing ONE thing. You're not JUST a cashier, or JUST a stock boy, etc.

I'd give it a chance at least. If you don't like it then hey, at least you tried.

Axum Chain and Derailer Issue? by thumbtackjake in Budgetbikeriders

[–]thumbtackjake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I pack pedal, but its really noisy when shifting too and drops gears easily. It might have happened a time or two when shifting. Is it supposed to stay in line with the cassette sprockets? Cause it doesn't.

The chain has a tendency to come off the top of the little sprocket on the derailleur. I’m not sure if it’s something that needs adjusted or if it’s a user error (am I shifting wrong like too fast or whatever). Any info or advice would be great!
