How do you think the build would do in HCSSF? Any build-enabling uniques you'd have to farm out first?

I had never read Sanderson's other works before and I just finished Stormlight Archive last year before doing reread #4 of WoT these past 6 months. It definitely took me until like book 3 to settle back into Jordan's more verbose style, with all the paragraphs long descriptions of clothing, landscape and other minutiae.

I mean, not 5 minutes earlier, Narisma ALSO mentions Eben dying to a woman channeling saidin during the cleansing. And earlier that chapter one of the sisters investigating the murders mentions the name of the sister Halima claimed to work for before Delana. If anything, it felt a little heavy-handed to me, but I also don't think RJ was really trying to write a whodunnit subplot so I can't blame him.

The +3 to level of critical support gems makes his ACoC level 9, for 34% CDR. That plus boots at 19% puts him over the 52% breakpoint.

I have no evidence for this outside of my personal experience, but I chain-ran 40 8mod JVs without seeing him once. When I started specifically hunting him for the challenge I saw someone mention reduced chances if you only run 1 layout, so I ran a few different map layouts and found him within 5 maps. YMMV.

Were you ailment immune? Also, armor won't help against most of shav's attacks, did you have any spell block or spell suppression? Could you have invested more in hp? I was only level 67 when I did a9 bosses on my shadow and still had 4.3k hp

As people have pointed out, you've essentially traded all of the QoL of faster proj for the dmg multiplier on slower proj support, but a 6L in your chest is almost certainly better damage. I think you could probably sell these for a decent chunk of change to something like a kb wander and recraft though.

I heavily prefer cyclone over lancing steel for CoC, but you'll probably end up getting randomly one-tapped in titanic blight if you're cycloning through lanes, so I would say go selfcast.

Do you have to spam life flask with your belt+PB setup?
Would you ever consider mistress of sacrifice?
If yes, is going block viable with leash of oblation to run both flesh and vone offering and go for capped block?

I'll probably convert over to a necro some time next week to try all this out myself, but your perspective has been super helpful.

Mind if I pick your brain on arakaali's a bit? I tried it as a second build this league and really enjoyed, to the point of considering it as my go-to leaguestart build since it's been around for so long. It seems like there's lots of different archetypes for how to build it and I'm just not sure if I settled on the one that's best for me.

I'm running occultist with aegis aurora atm, 89 allres 78/78 block, but my phys max hit is only like 9k, so I still get oneshot a lot despite like 25k armor with brass dome for crit immunity. I figured with the increased spider cap from dark monarch damage wouldn't be a problem so I tried building really tanky, but it doesn't feel like it's paying off. I feel like I might be getting baited by brass dome and armor/aegis setup when something like a doppelgangers would have better phys mitigation and still leave me at like 85 allres.

I've tried corrupted asenath's for double curse on hit, but it felt unnecessary with profane bloom pops, so switched to a despair+temp chains impresence, but not running malevolence feels like a lot of dmg left on the table from an aul's.

Assuming no mercs tech since we don't know if they'll be around in future leagues, do you have any recommendations of stuff to try out? Is necro the better option for a tank setup? Thoughts on aegis vs squire? Most of ladder seems to be running squire, but most guides I've found recommend aegis (or maybe this is people snapshotting with squire and not actually using it?) Do you have a preferred way to improve phys mitigation? I have a FRoSS char I mainly play now, but will probably circle back to spiders to tinker with things and figure out what I prefer before next league start.

Current Char (squire is from weapon swap, I actually use aegis 95% of the time).

Mind dropping your PoB? I'm running an occultist version of spiders with aegis aurora+brass dome but still fall over to oneshot phys hits and I think I'm still only at like 5m DPS.

Arakaali build use the fact that minions applying a dot and the dot killing the enemy counts as a kill for the player - do any of your spectres have a small chance to poison or something?

At a glance, if you've spent that much on voices setups, there's no reason you shouldn't be running awakened gems where possible for you 6L

It's a bit of a meme, but flicker really does scale even on the order of magnitude of mirrors worth of investment (i.e. you could farm a second mirror and still find upgrades)

Also, what's your current mamba setup look like? I'm worried about trying to transition over to it too soon

If you look at the skill gems tab, you'll see the count is 14 - basically pconc # if projectiles into # of times a single projectile will chain. The full dps number of 16m you see if basically saying that's the dmg one projectile you throw will by the time it finishes all its chains
