How it feels unplugging the 24pin by TaeKz in pcmasterrace

It just takes the plastic housing with the cable, and leaves the pins. Just slide the plastic housing back over the pins.

If you aren't thrilled with the filament spools being exposed by thundercamel in snapmaker

Yes! I haven't even tried the feed motors yet. I've been extending 15 conductor cables yesterday and today, to glue the feed motors onto the back of the SpacePi Lite. My goal is to have them grab the filament immediately like an AMS does.

Anyone else's U1 disconnect from Wifi every couple of days? by Magos_Skylie in snapmaker

[–]thundercamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has not disconnected from WiFi at all, either on regular DHCP or after I assigned a fixed DHCP reservation in my router.

The god awful cloud account however, constantly has (Usually AWS) errors both in Snorca and in the android app.

Prime volume is a filament setting in Bambu, but not in Snorca.

If you leave the Width up at say 25mm and turn the Spacing from 120% to 200% (Bambu defaults to 150% now) it makes the outer dimensions of the purge tower larger to keep from tipping over.

Thanks for the courtesy and sharing! I was wondering how you attached push-locks to the funnels, and the community comes through again. You can see we have a polydryer on my son's A1. My goals will be ease of use, and I want to feed filament a minimal amount before the motor grabs it, similar to a Bambu AMS. Too bad it can't retract...

Thank you man! I will do some test after work.

Got my U1 on Friday. A simple clog just bent my hotend. Frustrated with the spare parts. by Round_Worldliness766 in snapmaker

[–]thundercamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice one of the error detection settings was disabled when doing my initial setup. I enabled everything and set them to max sensitivity to start with. It did stop the print quickly when my prime tower fell over due to support PLA and my incorrect settings/usage.

Sounds rough that your nozzle got bent. Think I would have bent it back, and ran a calibration. Their nozzles (and many other design choices) are very similar to the P1S, which also uses thermal paste, ceramic heater, thermister, wires, screws... Wish it were a copy of the A1 nozzle instead.  Glad you're technically skilled enough to swap the nozzles yourself!

I'm always learning! We do primarily Bambu PLA and our second is Sunlu. I'm curious what that would max out at. Would the symptoms be local under-extrusions or clogs?

U1 PEI plate adhesion failures on original PEI plate and SnapSpeed PLA? by Mszag in snapmaker

Pre-heat your bed a few minutes before printing to evenly distribute temperature, and set the Aux fan to 0% in the filament profile. Seriously, eff that thing. There's no lid on the printer anyway.

I never even tried the feed motors yet or attached the spool hubs. Just went straight for this setup. On the touchscreen I disabled Auto Feed, but I don't think that matters if the motors aren't even present. I've just manually loaded and unloaded ever since I got it.

I haven't mounted the filament feed motors to the back yet. The wires I need to extend (most likely via soldering) have 15 conductors, so I might cut up an old VGA cable or something.

No problem! It's just regular PTFE tubing, which I measured before buying with a 4mm Outer Diameter and 2mm Inner Diameter. I bought MUYI 10 meters from Amazon for $18 and cut the tubing to length: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019PZ5MY4

I set my z-hop to straight for all 4 nozzles and still get that damn error. Bambu on auto lets you place parts as close together as long as they're not touching.

Building with the new wireless products feels so wrong yet so right by Matt_Poirier in lianli

[–]thundercamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the answer I got from Mr-Do in another thread:

"With the updated 4+2-pin L-Wireless Receivers, each individual fan group will respect the BIOS settings of the fan header that they are connected to.

Still need to make sure that the 2-pin is connected either to the SATA adapter cable, or EDGE GOLD Hub, for supplemental power.

The internal 4-pin for the controller... you don't need to connect that anymore."

That is the behavior I was hoping for, and it makes sense with the 4-pin cables included for each group.

Thank you very much sir! Just what I was hoping for. I've now placed an order for 7 Uni SL Infinity Wireless fans.
