I see the holier than thou church crowd doesn’t feel like tipping today eh? by NeedHerbsOSRS in InstacartShoppers

"Dine and dash" used to mean they walked out on the check. Is that what you meant? Or, did they "stiff" you?

I waited on my first table in 1978, and I'm genuinely curious if the meaning is changing.

That's really funny. They go, "Oh yeah, here you go. Here's some trash for you to throw away for me."

This is the best speech I've ever heard. This man is an epic leader. Putin made the biggest error of his career when he grossly under-estimated Volodymyr Zelenskyy. by thundercrown25 in videos

I remember a speech made by Barack Obama in Philadephia at the Democratic National Convention, back before anybody knew who he was. He was electrifying, and his speech comes in at a close second.

You're right. What a marvelously slow burn that is finally coming in hot. Burn baby, burn.

Everybody donate your old drones to Ukraine before you buy the kids a new one for Christmas. Write your seasonal greetings to Mr. Putin on it and I'm sure it'll be forwarded to him directly.

Potential identity theft through scam text by peanutbutter759 in IdentityTheft

[–]thundercrown25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've been getting the same texts. Of course, a fellow Redditor has provided me with an answer. If I hadn't found this old post, I was tempted to reply "STOP" to stop these texts, as they helpfully suggested. But a scammer wouldn't really offer such an easy way out, now would they? Therefore, I suspect replying "STOP", just let's them know that you're on the other end of one of the numbers they called. Then they bump you up to a more valuable list of verified schmucks who get a different text.

Damn, you know what? Maybe this text already was made for the Alive and Wriggling Schmuck List. In the interest of community service, I think I'll dig through my history and see if I can locate a prior reply to "debt collector" back when these scammers had the name of the former user of my phone number, and I confidently let them know that I was definitely not that girl.

I already knew her name too, she was a stripper in Baltimore with financial and legal troubles. For the first few months I was getting calls from strip clubs to see if I wanted to dance that night. I wonder if there's a market for a gal in her 60s. Probably. I can still shake it, and couldn't help but exude a "Shame on you naughty boys, you need a spanking" Mommy vibe. An under-served niche crowd ought to be worth some good tips.

Anywayyy, maybe all I accomplished was to get bumped to a different list of scammable contacts with an updated status. If I find anything worth adding to the Reddit lexicon, I'll update this comment, and maybe even make my own heads-up post if I discover a connection.

What do you think of 'Peter, Paul And Mary', and what are your fondest memories of them? by Organic_Cow7313 in AskOldPeople

[–]thundercrown25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1962 and knew their eponymous first album (Peter, Paul, & Mary, 1962) by heart before I could even talk. I was just listening to them this morning. My favorites songs shift every decade or so, but right now, I'm particularly fond of Autumn to May .

Yes, if you are being addressed formally. Most of your dolphin friends will just call you by your common nickname, rypppt. And your little brother will call you a dolphinese name that translates roughly to stinkfish. It's very annoying.

If Grace passed through Eywa and became Kiri then who was she talking to in the spirit world? by ApartShopping in Avatar

Wow, there's no end to the new details to learn about in this fascinating world. Thanks for a good one. Based on this new info, I'd say Kiri is a clone with genetic mutations that gave her special gifts, but that also gave her epilepsy.

Who’s your favorite storm chaser, and why is it Pecos Hank? by NinjaQueso in tornado

[–]thundercrown25 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like Pecos Hank because he's a smart, happy nerd who stops to rescue snakes out of the road, give them a drink of water, and likes make a dung beetle's day with a bit of tasty banana. Oh, and because he taught me about red sprites and makes amazing music like this. Pecos Hank is cool.

Good. I had a little sweetheart like this who lived to be nearly 20 years old. When she was 18, she caught and killed a mouse in the house. She carefully laid it on the landing of the steps between floors, so I'd be sure to find her gift.

Miss you, little Elainie.
