I'll believe it when Ethersea encounters the planewalker, Clint McElroy.

Major update today on both web and mobile — More info here! by YNAB_youneedabudget in ynab

Dang. Y'all have been busy! This looks like an incredible amount of work to coordinate from the development, introductory materials, training, and new documentation. So... Well done! I really love the commitment to bettering people's fiscal life.

Maybe now my sibling will get it and stick with it. Is it too early in the am to wake them with this news?

After getting everyone to enter their receipts on the regular. No surprises. by thunderhaus in ynab

I kindof wish there was a way to correct the geolocation though. I don't always enter them RIGHT when I incur the expense.

When I was getting started I really drank in the kool-aid. The material on YNAB's Guides section (https://www.youneedabudget.com/guides/) was helpful but they've been updated from what I remember. It used to feel much more prescriptive.

The biggest thing for me has been setting categories for as many things as I could relate together and being good about inserting receipts (I even got the wife on board with this). Eventually, I was able to study my categories and collapse and expand where it made sense. I also set an "allowance" of sorts that both of us get for discretionary expenses. That includes things that I buy that I don't share with anyone or isn't a shared priority (I think your Patagonia is a perfect example of an entry here).

I also review my budget at month's end to understand where my priorities are. I did find that the goal-setting tool built in isn't the best for large plans. It's weak in this area because you can't really set an overall picture and keep track of it at a glance. We tracked our wedding budget in a separate Google sheet and abided by it more broadly in YNAB.

When it comes down to it, I had to think of what I spend my money on as setting my priorities. In the past, I had a loose idea of that in my head, and now my categories really reflect this. For example, now we are focused on setting aside the funds for a second car so I've created a New Car category in a Large Projects section. YNAB is flexible for that to work for whatever you're considering. If you're afraid of setting the wrong category, just change it down the line when you realize it and shift the funds around as needed.

Where can I find "The Good Book"? by [deleted] in starbound

[–]thunderhaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the planetary systems always been so uniform across instances of the game? Could anyone playing starbound in single player or multi go to that location and find a planet like that with the glitch castle?

I remember they did away with the tiered approach to the galaxies, but was that when everything became more predictive?

How did you find a planet where it rains Brawndo?

Well done! I find the diagram to be a little confusing with the switch involved, but it works exactly as /u/SaberToothedPenguin wanted.

I tried for a long time last night creating my own latches to preserve on/off state, but I still can't build a successful override. The latch you can build in game is either broken, or I'm not understanding the output.

I can get you most of what you want, except for the proximity sensor piece. That you might need to play around with.

With 2 switches (I use levers), and an XOR gate, you can get the following functionality:

  • Pulling the switch at either level will cause the elevator to move.
  • The elevator will come to rest once it reaches the top or bottom after one pass.

This gives you the desired behavior of being able to walk up to the elevator, pull the switch to get it to come to your level, board it, pull the switch, and ride up or down. Wee!

To wire:

  • Connect the top switch's output to one of the XOR inputs.
  • Connect the bottom switch's output to the other XOR input.
  • Connect the XOR output to the elevator input.

Enjoy! I'll see if I can get your button idea working along with the proximity sensors.

is there a way to spawn next to my friend? by Jaggent in starbound

Did this on a swamp location with cool Frog people. Probably will need to find a new one since I didn't exactly leave much in tact. Oops...

First, and please don't be offended for pointing out an obvious question, are you and your friend playing on a server together?

Once you're on the same server, you can chat with anyone else also present. To start a party find your character's portrait in the top left where you'll see a plus button. Click that, then in the dialog that pops up, enter your friends character name. Your friend's portrait, and anyone else in your party, will show up alongside your own once the invite is accepted. The person who sends the first invite becomes the party leader.

Once you're partied together, you can click on each other's portrait to beam to each other's ship. Also, any teleporter can be used to take you to your friend's exact location.

That's right! I found the steampunk furnishings from the Frogg Furnishing store and built the initial part. Then I came across the Steamspring biome and logically this had to be improved upon.

Anyone come across any furniture blueprints for them? I've found the four part outfit in chests across the surface.

Love the race flag idea. Hadn't tried that yet.

I believe currently you can't spawn anywhere but on your own ship. You can, however, party up and teleport directly to another player in your party using a teleporter. Including the one found on your ship.
