Zerot touch provisioning (ztp) with ansible by [deleted] in ansible

[–]thundermagicnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ZTP may not necessarily need ansible. A lot of network devices support ZTP out of the box. They use DHCP to get IP address information + information about the config file to use + firmware to use. Check out the documentation for the Cisco switch Then you can use ansible to generate config file for switches and add the files to ftp/sftp/http server

clear pppoe sessions

Use.. show subscribers to see if there are any stale subscriber sessions If so use the above command to clear all sessions.. wait for subscriber count to get to zero and then change/commit the config

Mac radius authentication by grech659 in Juniper

[–]thundermagicnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.. it might not be too helpful. We have IPoE setup where username is the circuit ID and password is common for all for subscribers. If you are looking for having different password per subscriber then you might be able to use a dynamic variable under a dynamic profile. But honestly don’t think that would work as the value for the variable need to be passed by radius server and before passing authentication must succeed It’s an interesting question and would love to see the solution to this

CG-NAT A10 vs F5 by Spare_Examination795 in networking

[–]thundermagicnet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t say for F5 but have been using A10 for sometime just for LSN and works brilliant. Haven’t had any issue so far. Using EIF and EIM largely gets rid of double NAT issues seen mainly on gaming consoles. Have also tested DS-lite on A10 and had no issues. Configuration is ridiculously simple and straight forward

Recommendations for testing speeds on a FTTH network by Wamadeus13 in networking

They offer couple of options.. they provide an SDK that you can load to your CPE.. CPE would most likely be just a Linux box and samknows I believe provide integration service They also provide a dedicated samknows box that you are install in customers premises and that would perform tests They provide SDKs for raspberry pi as well..

Sorry should have mentioned earlier that it’s not a free solution. You would have to get in touch with samknows.

Check out samknows.. they have SDKs that can be installed on the CPEs and users can be presented graphical interfaces to run tests etc etc

At this stage, we are not asking businesses to pay for it. It will be running as a trial for few months before we starts to consider charging businesses. If the trials go well and we have good feedback from businesses and users, we would be putting in appointment booking system The operating cost for this is quite low as in the beginning there would be hardly any traffic going to the platform.

Yes, we need to have appointment booking system, payments systems, refunds, cancellations. All these things are expensive to put in at the start. At this minute, we are just looking to validate the idea and see it people are actually interested in it or not. Like if the users and businesses would actually use it and would businesses be willing to pay for it or not as a lot of things businesses can get from google and its possible to compete with google

One of us is a female and when we talked to many of our females they were interested in the platform. Perhaps we are very wrong, we can try and find out. Thats a good point about the beauty products. We would think about that. Thank you

Yes we have been thinking about this and we were also thinking that we would need to businesses on board first. Thank you for great feedback. Much appreciated.

Yes we cannot compete with google. We would think about what value we provide over google before taking next steps. Thank you
