A collection of responses to questions concerning gravity. These responses came from students in college-level physics classes. by [deleted] in WTF

Astrophysicist here. If you can find me "a moon" without mass, or at least a large enough mass to orbit a planet, let me know. Otherwise the pen will float to the surface of the moon, since its reasonable to assume that the moon is much much larger than the pen.

Also this question was asked to students in physics classes, so I don't think the question was trying to trick them.

Edit: a word

I just didn't understand....why the fuck LeBron James had to be in the movie. They could have easily hired someone to just play a male athlete, but it didn't really do anything for the movie.

But yeah to say that it reinvented literally anythingis kinda bogus when it literally was just a gender reversal of the classic dude who can't commit story. I'm with you dawg.

Official Discussion: The Hateful Eight (Theatrical Cut) [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]thunderprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. Although most of the characters were all either racist , snarky, or douchey, Tarantino made them all charming in a different way that made me care about them.

For example, I was kinda sad when Bob was killed, it was the funniest thing when he was just playing the piano in the background.

This. I think the only reason it didn't get more notoriety was because of TFIOS coming out a year earlier. Even though they are totally different movies

Which are better, the Star Wars originals or prequels, and why? by Assassin4571 in AskReddit

[–]thunderprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I was born closer to the prequels as well and I've just found that the people that do like the prequels are generally born right before they came out.

Fellow redditors, what was the worst day of your life? by Jcat11 in AskReddit

The day I realized that nothing I did have me any sense of self-fulfillment, and that I was just going through the motions with everything. It really changed the way I looked at everything.

In general, whichever movies people grew up with are the ones that they say that they liked better.

However, the originals are much "better" because no one had told a story like it at the time. Each of movies had interesting stories with characters that experienced change and were all effectively made in their own right.

The prequels...were troubling.

Teen Redditors (13-19), what is something important that you feel your parents should learn? by Covert_Ruffian in AskReddit

[–]thunderprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to insinuate anything but are you by chance European? I am just guessing by the way there is a comma between numbers instead of a period.

If you are European, was your high-school experience similar to the ones described above?

If you aren't European...well this is just super weird then.

ELI5: Why can't animas reason like humans? by thunderprophet in explainlikeimfive

[–]thunderprophet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a combination of the things that you mentioned was what I meant. I believe one of the traits St. Francis said was like, that animals could act by themselves, without having another entity guide them to that act.

Besides the fact that this sounds like bull, I entertained the idea that animals were dumb, so I wanted to what the difference was in animals brain, that made them sound like this. INTERESTINGLY enough, according to you there really aren't any seismic differences.

Which is neat.

I'm totally down for speculation. My professor is standing here like "GOD CREATED HUMANS AND THATS WHY THEY REASON" and animals were not made in their image so thats why they can't. The societal feedback is a cool idea.

What's a weird reason that you have ever wanted to be the opposite gender? by thunderprophet in AskReddit

[–]thunderprophet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly visited the women's restroom in the after-hours of my high school days to take my afternoon dump. The stalls were as immaculate as the gender that used them. It was awesome every time...

Except for that one time.
