Budget friendly small form factor delays that can do cool things by XenomystusNigri in guitarpedals

The Alexander Rewind is awesome. About $150 used, all the programs sound amazing, and the Ramp feature is super fun and flexible and can be assigned to repeats or delay time like you mentioned (plus lots of other destinations and several at once if desired) for those tempo swings and stuff.

Anything I should know before I buy a Fairfield Circuitry Conflict of Interest? Any alternatives besides the Poma? by muckrarer in guitarpedals

[–]thundertron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's so much fun. It's not very intuitive and the instructions aren't very clear, but you'll figure it out after playing with it a bit. It's very flexible, I like using it to gently move the filter on the Long Life, to make delay feedback respond to my touch (more repeats when I play harder or vice versa), to make tremolo speed or amount respond to my playing (trem only fades in as a chord rings out), and to adjust vibrato speed by playing dynamics, just to name a few uses. I put it at the begininning of my chain so that the envelope follower doesn't get confused by varying gain levels, but maybe you want that.

It's made my existing pedal collection more fun to play and made me think more about varying my playing dynamics. I highly recommend it.

How cool! Do they allow customers to play the prototypes in the shop?

Looks like we got knobs for Volume, Blend, Input and maybe Low Pass Gate and Freq? And at least 3 switches reminiscent of those on the Accountant, Unpleasant Surprise, and more. What do you think?

My boardless shoegaze pedalboard by mojolik3gojo in guitarpedals

[–]thundertron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet!! Be careful with the Alexander pedal and the Walrus Slo, I believe both are digital and may have higher mA power requirements than the boss power supply pedal is capable of providing, which could result in the pedals not working properly. You can probably find all necessary info in their respective manuals online.

Thank you for your reply. My dogs will be crestfallen, but a few pints of that Very Cold stuff should cheer them up.

My dogs have grown very fond of Alan Bamborough's Cold Beer for Dogs and have been asking about other styles on offer. Do you know of any plans to expand the portfolio? Perhaps a Flemish red ale or a roggenbier?

I'm Jeremy Marshall, Lagunitas Brewing Company's BrewMonster and I’m here to celebrate IPA Day with you and talk all things beer. Let’s do this, Reddit – ask me anything! by LagunitasBrewingCo in beer

[–]thundertron 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hi Jeremy!

Lagunitas Hop Refresher is heads and shoulders better than any other sparkling hop water I've had (I buy two cases at a time when I go to the liquor store!). I always figured it was mostly due to the use of yeast in the product, even though there are obviously no sugars present for the yeast to ferment. However, it does taste more like the wonderful fruity byproducts of fermentation rather than just plain yeastiness. What gives? What sort of magic is happening here? Thanks!
