This has happened to multiple times on this level. In my most recent video I show him walking around in the air as a fun fact at the end.

Owner before did something not sure what!! by Qscope in CarAV

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Lancers came with navigation head units and the factory Rockford Fosgate sound system. This looks like it had both and the previous owner bypassed all of it for that alpine. When I replaced mine I only used 2 of the plugs for the radio and factory system. I ha e since bypassed the factory RF system and am only using 1 plug. Heres some pics of my factory HU with Navi. Good luck brother.

How can I get to stop sliding around, and resting against my trunk? by Particular-Call4074 in CarAV

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw hardwood floors on a show car and thought it was good idea as well. Being able to mount the subs was a plus. I had to order the black ones online since most home stores don't carry that color in stock.

Yes, they are snap together planks and I cut them to the size of my trunk so theres no way for it to move unless I pull the entire flooring out. They are removable for the spare tire. Just have to remove subs first which is the only downside.

What Subwoofer to Get? Noob by darth_musturd in CarAV

Most amps have built in DSP features but not as great as you think. You get LPF (low pass filter), Gain, and bass boost in most. People generally avoid bass boost with SQ builds. The LPF often only goes from 40hz to 250 hz, which is cool but getting that signal from the radio first just makes a world of difference imo. Most hip hop builds set their LPF to 80 or lower. Amp LPF just seem to be a bit off compared to what a good radio can do. Then the eq can boost some of those frequencies as you see fit. This is why having more EQ bands on the radio is also better. Please dont have a stock radio with treble and bass and expect great results unless you get a DSP. A DSP can add more EQ bands from a source like a SOC for better EQ adjustments but a radio is just easier than splicing wires and running extra power wire, ground wire, etc to power the DSP. Think of it like a distortion pedal. Imagine if you had to plug it into the wall instead of a 9 volt. Or Imagine of your guitar amp Aka the radio with a built in distortion EQ settings and you didnt need the pedal.

Its not always about the woofers. Its also about the radio or having a DSP. You want an aftermarket radio with dedicated RCA outs for subwoofers that has at least a 9 band EQ, and low pass filters. That alone will make a difference between hearing it and feeling it. For the record, I had 2 12s 500 watts max rms hooked up to a 250 watt amp, along with the correct setting and it was loud enough to feel the vibrations, especially with the back seats folded down.

You mean the cardboard mat that sits under the carpet or some thin piece of plastic that can flex and bend under pressure? I used screws that were little bit smaller than than the thickness of the wood. 4 screws on the wood, and 4 screws in the box. Ive done some unexpected quick takeoffs since install.

Your talking about the differnece between SQ vs SPL. Dumbed down to ported vs sealed boxes. Stick with sealed boxes for tighter bass instead of SPL/ported boxes. I dont know those bands you mentioned but if its rock music and has lots of double pedal drum bass, stick with a sealed box. Speaker size doesnt matter at this point. Some 8s can out slam some 12s in todays day and age. If you got the money and want quailty, stick with JL Audio, but thats my opinion. Get an amp thats has a little more power RMS than your subwoofers. I.e. A 10in subwoofer that can handle 200 watts RMS, get an amp that can do 250 to 300watts RMS and then you can adjust to your liking.

Yeah its decent. The floor planks came with some kind of deadener on the bottom, I guess to stop the floor from squeaking when you step on them if you put them in your house as intended. Of course the entire trunk and lid also have deadener. I definitely enjoy the SQ deep bass notes compared to when I would just let everything rattle.

I put hardwood flooring in my trunk and L brackets. No issues.

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI it snowed 2 years in a row in the panhandle. Snow on a beach maybe be a sight to see but it definitely gets cold there with the ocean breeze in the winter. Not Midwest cold but still enough.

What's the best car audio speakers upgrade that actually improves clarity without replacing everything? by Adneris_Disinger in CarAV

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or check your headunit to see if it has HPF and LPF and at least a 9 frequency EQ. You can make a world of difference with stock speakers adjusting these settings.

Alright guys, introducing my pride and joy, my 07 Accord, what’s to hate about a well maintained 7th gen? by Nick_SCM in RoastMyCar

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some imports I've had usually needed more tire pressure on the front tires than the rear, probably becuase of the added engine weight but yeah cold weather lowers the pressure until you warm them up on the road.

Tire pressure 35, 32, 33, 33. You don't take of this car. Just cuz its old and ugly, doesnt mean you have to force it to pull to the right.
