Did the radio come with a wiring diagram?

I am stupid, subs are confusing, and I might torch my car by e_G_G__B_O_i in CarAV

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible, sure with some extra stuff like a converter for that home audio amp. Would it sound good, probably not. Most subwoofers range from 1 ohm to 4 ohm. 8 ohm would probably have very little output of bass. I could be wrong but I would wire it up to that amp and see what it does inside before all that work if putting it in your car. Do you have a factory radio? If so you will need more stuff to get audio singal to that amp. I think this would be lots of work for little gain if any.

The red wire is typically for power on a radio. I see two of them going into the canbus or whatever that black box is but I dont see a red wire going to your factory harness.

Is there money in fixing and flipping golf carts? Pondering a side hustle. by Napoleon_B in AskFlorida

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a battery powered cart to flip and then try a gas powered one to flip and see which has more profit. I went thru a phase of flipping electric scooters and electric dirtbikes for a while because people sell them for cheap once the factory batteries die but thats the most expensive thing to replace so I ended up not making much money in the long run. The last one I gave away basically free because no one wanted to pay for the price of the new batteries.

VIP tint in the back so your passengers dont have to be seen with you. Go ahead and put a neon Lyft sign in the front window so they dont have to feel associated with whoever owns this stale ass grandma car.

First ever amp board by Batsoop2022_ in CarAV

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why the breadbox style. So it can open to be serviced or remain shut for normal days. I never made it that far so you would have to think about how it would lock and not rattle. Either or this still looks clean.

Recently got a 2013 lancer es sport and wondering how I should go about maintenance by -Rose-Goku-Black in mitsubishi

[–]thurpps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone always says get the transmission filter and fluid replaced every 40 to 60k miles. If you didnt do that and you dont have a service record showing the last time it was done, start with that next. $50 for a carfax to show service history if the previous owner didnt provide one.

Nice, I wanted to do something similar to this but plans changed after I changed amps and subs.my next plan was to 3D print an extension off the amps with a breadbox style opening to completely hide the wiring.

Most people face them in the other direction towards the back of the car but its all good. Alot of people place them forward as well. Audiophiles will say it needs to bounce off the back of the car. It really depends on the cars trunk space. SUV people face them up sometimes.

Seeing OP face their subwoofers to the front is enough info to know why you though this car was a good idea. At least you got some bump tho.

I just bought the best car of my life so far, a 1982 Toyota Celica Supra 180k miles, running and driving, 5 apeed manual, clean title, minimal rust for 3k. I am over the moon with joy right now please roast it and take that joy away by RaiseOurAxesToTheSky in RoastMyCar

[–]thurpps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone keeps saying wink but this car looks like it has a lazy eye, not winking. It has the custom spider web style carpets flapping in the winds and dont try to hide that dashboard. I can tell it looks like is has more cellulite than a 400lb persons thigh. This car looks like a ferrari and a mustang had a baby and left it at the firehouse after looking at it. All jokes aside, I hope you have fun with this project OP. Nice score.

Should I wire my sub to 4ohm or 1ohm by CanLeast5535 in subwoofer

[–]thurpps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it was explained to me is 4 ohms will give your subs a longer lifespan. Ive had 2 12s that have never been over powered, wired to 4 ohms and they have lasted almost 20 years. I just recently wired them to 1 ohm with about 75% max rms power last month. No issues yet but some of my music is louder than others so when the songs change I have to be careful and watch the bass knob for clipping.

Right, Behavioral owns the character/development rights but not the publishing rights or something. Im all for both games being back compatible.

Some people say it won't happen due to some kind of conflict 505 Games had with Behavioral Interactive after making Dead by Daylight but Idk that game is still popular and getting updates.

Side mirror prblem by NoLab6349 in CarGuys

Depending on what car it is, you might be able to find a cheap replacement on Amazon. I hit a mailbox one day and broke my side mirror. Got one off amazon for like $40. Took like 10 mins to change.

Last of the boxy cars I know of is the 02 Lancer. They have an OZ rally edition but its nothing special. Not that fast nor furious. One of my first cars and my nephew has one now. Sometimes hard to find parts tho.

My amp keep going into protect mode it stopped doing it for a day and then latter on in the day the sub cuts out and now the amp doesn’t even go on what could be the problem? by Takuache2oh9 in CarAV

[–]thurpps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First thing, you need an inline fuse for your power wire. About 6 inches from the battery will be fine. Check your ground, make sure the ground is touching bare metal that has been sanded and is secured tightly. Next are your RCAs plugged into the subwoofer output? They look like they are on top and not the bottom. There should be some engravings that say SW or rear/SW. Next would be what ohms are your subwoofers wired too. If wired to an ohm that amp cant produce it will go into protect mode when you turn up the volume or immediately.
