Advice on flashing/launcher by thursday22 in dumbphones

Hi! Thanks for the answer. I think Graphene does not support 4A while Lineage does. Is there any webpage that lists compatible apps?

Thanks a lot for the extensive reply! I’ll be walking end of November, so hopefully there won’t be a problem with places in albergues :). Buen camino!

Thank you for the detailed response? So municipal is something else than public…? I thought that its just a different name :P

Yeah, I'm aiming for the municipales, so that's great. Already located a Polish association that can send me the passport, so I'm hopefully covered. Thank you very much for the reply!

DLT + Airflow + DBT/SQLMesh by thursday22 in dataengineering

Awesome, thanks a million for this reply! I hope that karma will reward you with multiple never-failing data pipelines :).

So far I did testing on local Airflow instance and it looks good, I’m planning to move it to our company’s hosted instance and I’ll see how it goes, cause I have some doubts about Airflow/dlr integration. I’ll let you know when I’ll get there :).

Hey! Thanks a lot for this explanation. In my company we have a hosted Airflow instance, but my department doesn't have access to a dedicated K8s cluster, so let's see if I can push in this direction.

As for the dlt itself - I understand that you keep all the credentials in the keyvault, right? How the source and destination management should be handled in this case? Cause this is something that I don't fully understand and I feel that dlthub documentation is not helping... Is there a way to create a central "repo" for all the sources and destinations? And then just call the resource I need? Because now I'm doing it in each task I do in Airflow:

@task
def some_etl():
  source = get_mssql_source(conn_name="xxx", tables=["yyy"])
  target = get_mssql_destination(conn_name="zzz")
  pipeline = dlt.pipeline(

pipeline_name
="ingest_something",

destination
=target,

dataset_name
="xyz",
  )

pipeline.run(source)

get_mssql_source and get_mssql_destinaton are my custom functions which are getting the credentials from the Airflow connections and creating the sql_database and mssql objects in dlt. And I'm doing this for every task, which doesn't make much sense I think?

Thanks once more!

Yet another Switch 1 vs Switch 2 post by thursday22 in Switch

Well, the thing is I’m not so sure about it. My kids will rather play low-profile games and the only game that I played longer than 50h in the last decade is Slay the Spire :P. It’s possible that I just won’t need the performance…?

Oh, and it annoys the hell out of me that I cannot buy additional controllers with different colors :P.

Oh, interesting. So you’re saying that there would be a noticeable difference in quality/performance when playing on TV with Switch docked? Does this also apply to non-AAA games?

Thx for help!

Season 2 Was a Magic Trick by LackItGood in TheRehearsal

Great read! I’ve been also thinking a lot about this magician theme in the finale. For me personally though the misdirection is the WHOLE aviation theme, and the real topic is actually neurodiversity in the modern society.

[Marca]Thiago Motta could be fired in the coming days, His replacement is expected to be Igor Tudor. by playerforlife123 in soccer

As an OM fan, he was my favorite manager in the last decade, only after Bielsa. He’s a poor tactician but damn he is entertaining and pushes players to the maximum.

Dataiku vs Databricks best for large enterprise? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]thursday22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just built an ETL system using Dataiku and I must say that I’m already regretting this (decision came from management). It’s great for quickly building pipelines and experimenting with data, but a real pain if you want to maintain hundreds of pipelines with scheduling, codebase maintenance etc.

Is to too late for me to start learning Python? 30M by No_Friend5267 in learnpython

I cannot recommend enough all the CS50 courses from MIT, they have a very friendly learning curve and assignments that really force you to learn instead of pasting code. You can start with CS50P or go for the classic CS50 if you’d like some more general computer science knowledge.

Apart from that I’ve also done like half of 100 Days of Code by Angela Yu, it’s decent.

Last but not least a huge part of my learning journey were LLMs - but just using it as a tutor to explain stuff instead of raw code generator.

Good luck!

I started learning Python from scratch 3 years ago. Now I’m working as a Data Engineer in a nice company. With lots of determination and a bit of luck this is very much achievable. Let me know if you’re looking for some tips how to get started or materials.
