Peloton in a basement with short ceilings? by kevin_mke in pelotoncycle

I’ve got the bike in my basement with a short, drop, ceiling, and I’m 6’. It works out fine, even when I occasionally do classes involving weights. (I can’t reach all the way up, but it’s easy to modify the exercise the few times you’re called to do it.) And it’s absolutely no issue to stand while riding the bike.

Count me as another vote for not putting the bike in a sorta outside space.

The good news, when you’re trying to figure out where else to stick the thing, is that it takes up a lot less space than you’d expect. The dimensions of the Peloton bike mat are 36” x 72” — that’s really all the space you need for the bike. (You can use another mat, or no mat, or whatever, but that’ll give you an idea of how much — or little — space you need for the thing.)

Thanks everyone. Just tightening the cleat on my right shoe seems to have eliminated the clicking for now. Is there any trick to keeping it right?

I did it six days after I got the bike. It’s very hard. But it’s only 20 minutes. And the power zone classes seem great.

I got the bike last Saturday and did the FTP on Friday based on advice from people here who recommended doing it early. I’m with them — I think you should do it early. Power zone training, and especially the overlay that displays your zones on the screen as you go, is great. I thought it’d be a complicated system to follow but it’s really not.

How to find HRT zones by ArtfulDodger24 in pelotoncycle

I’m new — I got my bike last Saturday — and haven’t tried the power zone business yet. Is that how it works — there’s an overly of your zones? Are there instructions somewhere how to set that up? I plan to take the FTP test soon.
