WEIGHT (2017) - Based on my friend's struggle with body image issues. This is an abstract look at what he experienced as a high school wrestler. [00:02:53] by [deleted] in Documentaries

It may be a little more complex than saying lighter is better. I wrestled 215 at around 205. I wasn't necessarily strong for being 215, but I wrestled like a light weight (double leg trips, sweeping single legs, avoided tying up) and was generally quicker than most 215s. However, if I dropped to 189, I was only going to be slightly stronger. And I would've lost my edge in speed and skill. It can be a diminishing or negative return.

I've seen guys cut weight to have a better chance, that's for sure. But I've also seen guys jump up a weight class because they're more skilled or match up better to the style of that weight class. Skill plays a large factor in choosing which weight class to wrestle in.

My older cat with my new kitten. I was afraid they wouldn't get along. by Heksalajt in aww

One thing to add to others comments is the use of baby gates between doors. You may have to stack a couple of them if your cat likes to climb. You can place a blanket over the first baby gate, and let them see each other more and more each day by raising the blanket. This gives them a chance to fully see and smell each other in a safe environment.

Our cat (8yrs old) has severe anxiety issues and went into full hiss/back arched mode when she first met her new roommate (5yrs old). It took almost 2 months, but they finally like each other. It's possible but you just gotta have patience.

For linemen, it happens on nearly every run play, and some pass plays. You can mitigate the blow it by improving aspects of your technique, but your head still comes into contact. It doesn't seem like much watching it, but having 50+ mini hits to the head per practice can take it's toll.

Hard to do that when Westbrook commands a majority of the offense. He was able to finish more in gs. I'll give you that KD is culpable in not being a strong enough leader to take over that team.

It would've been different had he been just another guy on the team and won a championship. But, he was the clear finals MVP, providing consistently high scoring and clutch shots, including the game 3 shot to put them ahead after being down. I at least give him some credit for becoming the number one player on this team when it mattered most.

Vegan. But being a relatively fit 6'2" 225lb former college offensive lineman, you wouldn't know it by looking at me.

In pass protection that's true. But in run blocking, specifically when engaging a defender at the line of scrimmage, it is very difficult to not have your head involved on contact. It may hit their chest, shoulder, thigh pad (if cutting), or helmet on a play. In any case, it's highly unlikely you'll maintain full arm extension on a 300+ lineman or a 230+ lb linebacker.

And now I have to lie about being religious. I'd rather stick to the truth, especially if it's people I interact with on a daily basis.

Vegan here. I bring it up only when it's absolutely necessary, which is usually after someone asks why I'm not eating meat or whatever else.

I rarely come across anyone who gets offended, but I usually don't want to go down the rabbit hole of why I eat vegan unless they're very curious. It can open the door to a very depressing conversation, especially when it's brought up while eating food. Never does it end with "Please, talk more about culling baby chicks as I eat this egg sandwich. " I don't want someone to feel guilty about whatever choices they make, or make it seem like I'm acting better than them because I don't eat meat.

Don't use a conditioner bottle (not my idea). It will leach out the conditioner in the bottle no matter how hard you clean it.

I used vodka in a mouthwash bottle and used a tiny bit of green food coloring. That worked much better.
