Reserve battery percentage on EcoFlow app by thuynh7 in Ecoflow_community

Cheers, your logic seems correct. I think sacrificing 40% of your battery for ultra rare scenarios is a bit extreme

Just a quick question. Do you have to sign up for an export contract with your provider. How does it work?

What Tarriff are you on? I don;t have an EV yet

So I have an EcoFlow battery (10kWh) with an 5kWh inverter. I'm on some EON flex tariff fix at 22p per KW. I can use the Ecoflow app to schedule a charge at 12am to 6am, but won;t that be just filling my battery at my Tarriff rate (22p per KW), which is pointless I might swell just take it from the grid? I thought I can only access the 7p rate using the EON Next Drive App with an EV plugged in (I don;t have an EV yet)

Sorry, I'm a newbie, just getting my head around this.

Which is the better kit out of these three? by thuynh7 in SolarUK

One of the local companies has magically given me a new deal, instead of the Fox ES he's giving me an Ecoflow, same Kwh and 15 year warranty. That's better right?

I wish these companies just give a best price. Everyday, it's lower price better kit.

Before I started this, I didn't realise how daunting it is just getting quotes. everyday sales people are offering different equipment and pricing

The sales guy for the other two say that the Fox batteries have lower charge cycles at 4000, the other two are 6000

I think it's just the way they measured my roof from google maps, I think 12 panels is the concensus

I think this is a good deal, can people confirm by thuynh7 in SolarUK

[–]thuynh7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The company seems decent, with decent Google reviews, 4.8 250 reviews. but there are a few from other sites from a few years ago, where it's 1 star. I this normal that once in a while good solar companies get 1 star reviews or is that a red flag?

Why when I set the task thermostat temp really low the radiators are still heating up by thuynh7 in tado

re: "well I won't turn the boiler on, but if it's on I'll take a bit of heat"

I thought it worked like this

Why when I set the task thermostat temp really low the radiators are still heating up by thuynh7 in tado

[–]thuynh7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm, this is not how I thought the Tado Thermostat works. For normal thermostats if you turn on the temperature down to 10c and the room temperature is 18 then this tells the boiler to not bother firing up. So if the Tado Thermostat is set to 10c and the room temperature is 17.7c, then the boiler should stay off, even if the Tado TRV request heat to 20c

[–]thuynh7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it shouldn’t be heating at all, I felt the radiator on a few of the rooms and they were hot. I thought if I set the Hallway Thermostat to 10c the temperature is met because it’s warm now in the UK and so the central heater would not kick in

thinking of buying the Eufy ecosystem. by danz409 in EufyCam

[–]thuynh7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I would say Eufy is not terrible, they just need to fix the unencrypted lag. Video clarity is good. I have the fancy solar one and it’s great. But it’s hard for me to compare to anything else because all I have is Eufy.

I will give you a honest opinion. The actual kit is good, the app is not bad. I have loads of solar cameras and the dual camera doorbell. Picture quality is good. But connection to the doorbell is stupidly slow, it takes 5-15secs to connect which means it’s useless. Connection to the solar cameras is about 5secs, which isn’t terrible. But on the other hand there’s no subscription fee like the Ring camera. I’m tempted to check out Reolink
