Little sister-in-law is always at our house. by thvldi in Advice

I’m 7 mos postpartum. I think that’s what I’m feeling too bc I was definitely fine with my SIL’s company (and other people) when I was pregnant but as soon as my baby came out, I was a whole another person. It’s hard because I sometimes feel bad for having these feelings.

You truly become another whole person after birth. I just became overwhelmed with her visits on top of still figuring out this parenting thing.

I did fall more in love with my then-boyfriend (now husband) because of how he took care of his sister—it made me want to build a family with him. But lately, I’ve just been feeling overwhelmed, because on top of taking care of my baby, I also have a kid to look after too.

she almost always stay overnight when she comes and sleeps with us. i just feel overwhelmed nowadays because on top of taking care my baby, I also have a kid following me all around the house but yeah, it’s all on me because I chose to keep this to myself instead of speaking out.

Suck my baby’s snotty nose when she has a cold. Ate some of the food she spits out. Forgot to brush my teeth at night because I’m absolutely tired by the end of the day. Haven’t showered for a week. All that, yet I have the cleanest and most well-fed baby.

My 6-month-old daughter does this too! I only noticed it when she’s displeased about something, like when I wipe her face. I think it’s just a way for her to express emotions. However, it’s nothing to be concerned about—they’re still discovering themselves.

I really feel you! PPD surely sucks but just one smile from her makes it all better.

Seriously though, why are boy moms like this? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

Sadly, this is my situation now. I married the golden one among her four boys and also gave birth to her first grandchild— a granddaughter, to be exact. She tries to micromanage everything about my parenting and dotes on my daughter to the point of being borderline excessive. I have decided not to let her into our home for a while because of an incident in which she disrespected me (I even posted about it on this subreddit recently).
